They get even more confused when Guyanese Indians speak.
Our accent is not like India Indians......but where is it from?
Quite often they will ask if we are from Trinidad or even Jamaica.

Our fore parents picked up the English language from earlier inhabitants of the country which was broken up by them ,the broken English passed on to their generations .We speak perfect English in schools as soon we are out of the door ,we are back to broken English .Berbicians, Demerarians and Essequibians speak different broken English ,one can identify a person from the three Counties by their accent.
They are more aware of Trinidad, I wonder why?
Sometimes, I think it is bcz of Mittal Steel.
Lately, it might be of Shah Ruk Khan and the franchise of cricket.
I read the other day you watched all 400 episodes of Eurtugul (sp). Interesting, the history. I stopped after 65 episodes. Perhaps, I wii return to it sometime in the future.
They are more aware of Trinidad, perhaps because of Sundar Popo and the Yankarrans. My Tuk Tuk driver was blasting Sundar Popo's songs. They also think that Kanchan is from T'dad.

There is a Sundar Popo song in a Bollywood Movie-Bhojpuri style.
Kanchan! yeh, could be Trini.

I am thinking that you are addressing this to me?
Watched Ertugrul because of the history, and this one captivated me. It did take us about 5 months to watch all 400 episodes.
I really enjoy the historical series, not so my husband, but he will sit and watch with me.
We are on the last 2 episodes of season 4 of The Crown. Who knew.....mental illness in the Royal family??!!!
Got to love the life of retirees!!
