Well I stopped buying gifts a few years ago for my children. Them rass wuking fuh enough so they shouldn't need anything now. I will concentrate on giving my little rugrat his gifts.
Christmas has gotten kind of boring for me now, except for the food that comes around.

I do gifts for my hubby and kids and a few other relatives. Not the big list I used to have years ago when all the cousins etc. were little.
I limit the gifts but do a nice FIVE star lunch at my home for relatives. 
Last week we went to the US to do Xmas shopping, I buy my booze in Sarnia, Canada take it over the US and bring it back to Canada, the reason is the duty free in Sarnia is the best, largest selection. It was just my wife and me, but I bought six bottles, upon return the custom officer asked If I have liquor and how many, I said six bottles, she then said I exceed the limit that I am only allowed two bottles, I then said I did not know I thought we were allowed $800 each, by that time there was a long line, she then said I might not be so lucky the next time, bye.But ,I always exceed the limit, but seldom do they ask me about liquor. Anyway, a great mall to shop was Great Lakes Crossing in Michigan, lots of bargains, even with the dollar conversion.

For example I buy Eldorado rum 21yrs for $59 Cda 15 yrs for $30Cda and single malt scotch cheaper than the US . The US duty free don't have the selection.

Fresh Xmas tree or artificial tree,?? well I have a 7ft fake tree for ten years and it fooled many, they would have to touch the leaves. We have already decorated house and lawn.
We have an artificial 7.5 feet. Bought it about 3 years ago. My family puts it up on black Friday. Stays up too long for me.
Thanksgiving and Xmas are way too commercialize , it's all for Retail Businesses grabbing the consumer hard earn cash. When January comes, many are plastic broke.
I can remember a cap gun was the ideal Xmas gift for a small boy, today them want cell phone, computer and other expensive gifts. Some parents have to work overtime or hold down two jobs just to afford the Xmas gifts.Sometimes, I would buy Xmas gifts as early in Summer when I find a sale, because my wife has a large family so do I.
