You should wait a year or so until the economy picks up the country prepares itself to welcome tourists.
Some friends shared this with me.

Coyo Coco is on the top recommendation with min 4 star resort...nothing less. 5 star is the very best.
NEVER rent scooter or any sort of vehicle thinking u can tour on ur own...the locals will hound you or run in front of you so u can pay them off...or u could end up in jail for mths for the most minor incident. Make sure u have additional health ins.
I have never been to cuba and it's not on my wish list at this time
Great place to pickup ...ahem...cigars, ask Monica L.

I have been there several times, for the best beeches go to Veradero and you can take a day trip to Havana, yes look for 5 star rated hotels. All inclusive from Toronto from $1500. Cda for 7 days and nights. I suggest to go soon before it gets too commercialize after the lifting of the embargo. It is unspoilt beauty and most of all the people are extremely hospitable.

went to Miami looking for my lil Bro DaFreak....not a sight of him i walked more than 5 miles on the beach, saw some live show at a gay bar near the beach...
Hmmmmm!!!! Let's hear of said show...on second thought, doan bother
Which reminds me of the time I was surprised after receiving a wristwatch from my lesbian neighbours, when they previously asked what I wanted for my B'day, I told them I wanna watch.

Shanaz - I have vacationed in Cuba several times
1st thing - always go to 4+* hotels
As someone else mentioned - Varadero is a good place to visit for the first time - many has said that it has the feel of 'Miami'. it is 'bright' with lots to do and going to Havana, a must see, is a short trip.
If you are looking for the most beautiful beach - then go to Cayo Santa Maria - white sandy beach for miles and the most beautiful aqua ocean. only draw-back, it is a 2 1/2 hour drive from the airport.
book online - reputable sites are:
selloffvacations.com
itravel2000.com
belairtravel.com
All their prices are comparable. We have used all three before with no problems.
Good luck and I hope you have great time in Cuba where you will find the Cubans are some of the nicest people you will meet.
some of the hotel chains that we have used and were very satisfied with:
RIU
Breezes
Blau
Memories
Melia
Iberostar
Royal Decameron
Thanks for all your help . it do mean a great lot to me , we still looking ,thanks
the Hotels in verordero?
Head to Banff. I might visit within the next couple weeks.
This one the flight is 551.00 return and that's cheap for heading West.
At this time of the year.....I would only head out to Banf if I was a skier.
and of course....I am not!!
I would love to go in the summer time though......but as Chami said, they make it way too expensive to visit Canada, East or West, during the summer months.
Yes Shanaz.....come in and tell us about your Cuba vacation experience.
Hey Chami my dahlin......how tings nah?
We have been considering Myrtle Beach for sometime in March.....not March Break though....Canadians will flock there for that week.
And if you want to save some money.....you can even drive there!!
You might like Captain Quarters Resort in Myrtle Beach. Has an indoor pool, several outdoor pools, lazy river, bowling alley; it is right on the beach...walking distance to restaurants. Free bowling with hotel stay, great for a family vacay.
