It is quite clear the dynamics will change and the incoming government will have to make some concessions because that is the platform on which they are running. The concessions to local administrations having more say in the management of their local development is a step. Additionally, insistence on constitutional changes on this platform will mitigate against corruption. I am also sure the instituting of a procurement commission, changes in the auditing procedures all predicate a different kind of government. The present PPP is on record of demanding their autocratic privileges, being secret and unaccountable with the nations assets and against constitutional changes. That alone is reason to vote their corrupt asses out.

The introduction of socialism and nationalization of the main industries crippled the economy, not corruption. The Marxist-Leninist PPP were fully in support of socialism and nationalization and the outcome would have been the same if the PPP were in power. The upsurge in the economy started when Hoyte moved the country away from socialism and adopted a free market approach. The PPP had no choice but to continue down the free market road after they came into power in 92. What we see today is outright tiefin and it harms the economy and the welfare of Guyanese immensely. They are generally still living in abject poverty.
