Ex-wife sues husband for loveless marriage
DUBAI - A woman is suing her ex-emirati husband for Dhs 45m ($12.251m) because he couldn’t perform in the bedroom while they were married, UAE daily Gulf News reported on Wednesday.
In a civil compensation case heard at the Dubai Courts, the woman alleged her ex-husband, a wealthy business man, suffered from sexual impotency depriving her of her conjugal rights, the paper reported.
The woman alleged her husband did not sleep with her in the first four months of their marriage. "When he did for the first time, he treated me inhumanly and inappropriately...I suffered mentally, emotionally and lost any hope to become a mother...He made me resign from my work...I lost my only income," the woman told the court, the report said.
According to records, she married the accused in 2008 but was separated a year later. She claimed that her ex-husband retained her passport and did not pay her any financial support after the divorce, the paper reported.
