I will be observing how many other privately funded hotels will close up operations because the predatory state - PPP govt - decides to compete with them instead of complementing them with capital injections to raise standards to 5 star. I've already noted the fiasco surrounding the historically famous Tower Hotel.

A hotel gets constructed and PPP have an orgasm.  LOL Hotels are built around the world as an everyday activity with private funding and no fanfare.  In Guyana it is headline news.  Look mum what a great achievement we thief and constructed an asset to perpetuate more thievery.  Lord have mercy!!!!!

Many of you, if progress slap you in the face and turn you upside down, you still would not see it. The naysayers will have to cry for the next FIVE years. You people should be living in Ukraine or Syria where you starve and dodge bombs every day.Guyana a paradise in the making, go and see for your self, I was there!

Well it depends on whether this will crowd out or crown in other privately funded hotels. Give it two years.

IT IS  thief to build a country for the elite, while thiefing  to full dem pocket.

Since when thief and thiefing make a right, while the poor continue to suffer.

Jagdeo sits good on his ass on the backs of taxpayers, while his greed and corruption continue.

What progress are you referring to? Building a hotel with taxpayers money? You are laughable. Small minds of the PPP.  Backdam thinking on display. Please state what new industries have been created by the PPP in 22yrs and new jobs created for its young people.

While naysayers will continue uninterruptedly with their negativity, progress will advance in Guyana.

Of note, the naysayers would always benefit from the developments.

Well it depends on whether this government subsidized hotel crowds in or crowds out the privately funded hotels, many of which came into existence for cricket world cup. Give it a few years let's see how this experiment works out.

Great question! It is a shame that after 22 yrs of PPP rule there is still no viable value added agri based industry in Gy.

The tourism they always speak of is akin to a bunch of drunks patting themselves on the back, celebrating who can drink the most, while nothing of value gets done.

Correct, D_G. CJIA expansion and the Amaila Hydro Power will be operation and find these hypocrites crying. The gravy train will pass them with dry mouth.    let them wait for Granger and Ramjattan.

What silly question is that? The 228 employees, plus management team and the expected occupancies/guests are people too. The rest of the people of Guyana said they want to go back in straw huts when Granger take office, and I believe he will deliver straw huts to the people.

You want to tell us how many more Chinese workers  Jagdeo PPP  will import for these projects, while Guyana has one of  the highest unemployment rate in the world.

How  many more failed  Skeldon factories he gun build.

The gov't and state is not there to create jobs, they create a safe and viable environment for the private sector to establish business. Government only comes in at last resort to help a failing business. So Stingaa, go back and finish your ABC, you spent too many years in lil ABC.

Grander and Ramjattan will go in circles for eternity to move forward.

In the meantime, the PPP/C government will complete the Amaila hydroelectric power project plus numerous developments to continue with the enhancements for Guyanese.

These folks come here to skin and grin for no apparent reasons. How silly it is to look at the establishment of the first international brand Marriott in Guyana and skin about it? When they want to laugh, they should go to PNC/AFC circus. They have plenty of laughs.
