Thanks for that sober response!

Listen! The good Lord moved 90% of the posters on this forum from Guyana to lands over-flowing with snow, milk and honey.

But today--2013--the good Lord loves what he is seeing from our fellow Guyanese in Guyana---and while many of Guyanese are freezing their balls off in lands of snow, milk and honey---the good Lord is beginning to bless warm and sunny Guyana with progress and positivity.

Now, I'm off to visit my farm.

It just goes to show one is never too old to learn something new.

I never knew there were akee trees in Guyana---thought it was a Jamaican thing.

Thanks for the enlightenment Sheik---and enjoy your day at the farm.

Rev, I never heard of akee in Guyana either, Naturally, the Sheik had to delve deeper in order to be convinced. And I was. I thought it was a Jamaican thing as well. until one of these fruits, if it should be called that was cut open in front of me revealing three black seeds inside.
It's not a cashew nut tree either. I know what they look like. As is plain to see, there are no nuts hanging from the outside.

Is that your farm for real ? Impressive! That is nature bro. I love it. You are a blessed man Sheik--- a man of the earth.

When my family lived in the country we had lots of fruit trees---mango, guava, psydium, cherry, dongs(wrong sp), coconut.

Regarding whitey and sour-ree----I haven't had those in decades----usually when I visit Guyana I load up on sappodila----but I'll look for whitey when I visit later this year.

Have fun Sheik--by the way, make sure that little guy returns to school in NY next week.

Is that your farm for real ?

Hahahahahaha, The sheik detects a lingering doubt on the part of the Rev.
but be advised, what I tell you, that's what is is. The sheik does not play games. Five years ago, I was asked to make this investment and I did so.. reluctantly. Cash crop. Everything planted according to season. I have no regrets.
You see Rev, while some prefer to sit down in Liberty Xpress bar drinking caronas and eating cutters after a hard day of accounting, I, on the other hand prefer to seek more meaningful ventures in the homeland..
Yet, the sheik is accused a coming to Guyana only to bang Brazilian girls. Truth be told, I do that too. But only when time permits. Hahahahahaha.

It's a small world my dear! Since you went to Rama Krishna also--that means you and the Rev are like family.lol

That's the nice thing about interacting with fellow Guyanese---you always know somebody in common or have something in common.

RE: RAMA KRISHNA

I wrote common entrance in 1971----I was not even 10----started high school later that year at 10.

WHAT YEAR DID YOU WRITE COMMON ENTRANCE RIYA ?

I'm glad you remember the flutee lady---Aunty Noreen----there was also a lady who used to sell sliced mango and other stuff--I forgot her name.

Anyway in my time(1971) the flutee was 1 cent---but I guess with inflation---around your time flutee was 5 cents.

RE: CHARLIE

Opposite Rama Krishna was Charlie cake shop---I used to buy chocolate milk and channa from him----his channa was full of geera.

RE: THE BETTENCOURTS

Next to Rama Krishna was Mr. and Ms Bettencourt----were they still there when you attended Rama Krishna ?

The Bettencourts made the best channa and the best sauce to go with that channa that I ever had----I also remember their chocolate icicles.

SMALL WORLD & SWEET MEMORIES RIYA.

Riya and the Rev went to Rama Krishna and alena and the Rev went to QC.lol

Bally:

* HT was Moorat Prashad not Persaud---and his wife, Ms. Prashad, used to teach those little kids in classes that were held in the church or should I say mandir ?

* Miss Roopnarine passed away in Canada a few years back---she and my Mom were good friends---she used to live at the head of Barr street----she used to give lessons---remember her son Howard ?

* Didn't Chowbay die in an accident in 1970 or 71 ? That was sad.

* Miss Balkarran was my common entrance teacher---she used to wear some daring mini skirts back then---us 9 and 10 year old guys loved her.---she and her family lived in that big house on Shell road---that was the street behind Barr street, right ?

* Miss Balkarran got married to an Indian businessman---and Charran took over as common entrance teacher.

HOW IS THE REV'S MEMORY ?
