"why the Pandits and Hindu religious leaders are allowing such behaviour".
Chiefy, I hope all is well. I miss your lunch thread Would you consider starting one for 2012?
I took the statement above from the phagwah thread because I'm only going to use it as a reference. Regarding religious leaders, would you concur with those who think that religious leaders across the board "allow" inappropriate conduct?
I was at a masjid, (in the common area for a Quraan Shareef) and some of the women wore sleeveless shalwaars. Many were without a head scarf (not even the "hernie" we are used to wearing in Guyana). One was in a low neck, belted dress.
Many of our young Muslim girls and even older women wear fashionable hijabs. You and I know that the veil is not supposed to draw attention to you. Yet, that it is doing the opposite.
Some women go to church with...halter tops, tight jeans, plunging necklines. Couples sit in the pews with their arms around each other- sometimes even kissing on the cheek.
Some women go to mandir with outfits that show lots of skin- I wonder how the pandit is able to concentrate
Chiefy, how do you think religious leaders ought to address this kind of conduct in a place of worship? I value your thoughts.
