Cant say I understand GO GO. The lady of the house produced and promoted many of those Guys in the late 80's. I use to play in a street band that  morphed into a go go band when I was in school.

I like chuck brown. He is genius. Played with everyone from Percy Sledge to James Brown on some accounts. He is a phenomenal guitarist. Much more he can play all kinds of music.

I also like one of the musicians he brought to the attention of the world, a Rockville girl named Eva Casssidy. Eva died too young but she was one of the most phenomenal artiste ever from our area.

After reading your post I have a renewed respect and admiration for Chuck.  I just saw him as a go-go artiste and only listened to him when my kids did.  I never knew that he cast such a long shadow and certainly did not know the role he palyed in Eva Cassidy's development.  Eva will always be one of my favorite artistes and one of the greatest regrets of my life is that I never went to see her live.  She passed away all too soon.  Another great artiste  from our area who suffered a similar fate was Danny Gatton.  He committed suicide a few years ago.  Many considered him one of the greatest guitarists of all time.  Here's one of his pieces:
