Samantha Ruth Prabu aka Samantha rose has had a very successful path so far in both tamil and telugu film industries.

Born on April 28, 1987 to a Malayali mother and a Telugu father, Samantha was brought up in Chennai and sees herself as a Tamilian, as she was brought up speaking Tamil and English.

During the period, Samantha had also been signed on to feature in two big budget projects in Tamil, Mani Ratnam's Kadal (2013) and Shankar's I (2015) but was forced to opt out from both films, since she was suffering from a skin disease and could not work for two months.
