One observation from the first quarter is that the Spurs bench team shows no drop-off in quality from the first team. As I said in an earlier thread the Miami swarming defense will get a strong test from a team that has the best team offense. LeBron has played the entire first quarter and maybe he can play huge minutes, but you have to keep an eye on his effectiveness late.

This is a terrific series as you're seeing the two teams with the highest basketball IQ and good decision making.

On to Game 2. The Miami Heat for the first time is in a real series. The Paceless, Nyets and BobbyCats did not give the Heat the chance to hone their run for a three-peat. Miami is still the more athletically gifted of the two teams but it's in the arena of smarts that the Spurs can hold their own against a savvy well-oiled Miami team.

All the Spurs did was to hold serve - not advantage here.

Does not matter. Heat will still win in six games. Rough game for all. The players as well as the fans but especially for the Spurs organization and the NBA. The only winners were of course the Spurs team who are now up one to noting in the series. LeBron was a victim of his own greatness. His low body fat coupled with the heat and the speed and intensity with which he plays the game were all contributors to his demise in that game. But he did not look worried yesterday. Can't wait for Sunday night.

Can't believe the level of hatred that is out there for LeBron today. To make fun of a natural injury is unbelievable. I have seen games where an athlete gets knocked down in the other team's arena and when he gets up, there is sincere appreciation that he can walk on his own will. That courtesy wasn't extended to LeBron. Instead, people decided to go about the day mocking him. Karma is a bitch and hopefully karma does not visit any of those who pretended that they cannot walk yesterday.

Another thing, with all the hatred across the country, how will fans of these other teams go about telling LeBron that they love him and want him to play on their team next year?

The LeBron hatred is uncalled for, but fans are stupid. Kaz is right that LeBron plays at more than 100% every night. He was more intense than the other players and didn't pace himself.

The haters should know that the $3 million generated by the "Decision" on ESPN when LeBron took his talents to South Beach all went to a children's charity.

His absence showed that this Miami team is more dependent than LeBron than previous Heat teams.

The cramp story took away from the Spurs rally though. A healthy LeBron would have made it more uncomfortable for Danny Green, but I don't think that the rest of the spurs team is just chopped liver.

Of course any team would be happy to have LeBron, just like they would if they had Bird, Jordan or any other superstar...it doesn't mean that Barclays or the Garden would not be sold out or be less popular without him...I'll always support the Knicks, with or without LeBron

ANyway, hope they have the AC on high for your sake

I wa more upbeat with that last move on Deaw than any other during the game. Too bad it was his last play of the game. Don't forget that the Heat were up and with LeBron on the floor the Heat had a better chance of shutting down the Spurs. Maybe Green don't make those threes. But that is all under the bridge now. Miami needs to win four games to keep the trophy so tomorrow is a good time to start winning those games. The a Spurs are good but I am not interested in their wins. My team is still there so I don't need to support another

You have to wonder if LeBron will be conscious of cramps from now on in this series and pull back a little. When they were up 7 with 8 minutes to go the HEat had 3 straight possessions wit LeBron in the game and Miami got into its offense late in the clock and had horrible shots. That allowed the Spurs to make it a game and Miami could have put it away during those 3 possessions.

On the LeBron hatred, MJ was helped in a sense when he encountered tragedy - his father's death. He also had to build up Scottie. Scottie on another team would have been an ok player. LeBron had an established star in DWayde who won before (with Shaq). And Bosh was a premier player. Who Jordan had that was an established star? Kobe had Shaq all those years or he would not have had 5 championships.

MJ didn't have the social media attention that LeBron has today; and let us not forget that there is a humble start on the Spurs team who has won 4 titles. LeBron invited attention with his decision. MJ won attention with his titles and assassin attitude towards winning. LeBron attract attention for the wrong reason, having lost two NBA Finals series already. The post-MJ era still awaits an MJ.

Those three bad possessions came before LeBron had that powerful drive. At some point of game endings LeBron stops helping other players and go for the win. That was not possible in game 1. In regard to his cramps I doubt it will affect him mentally. He has had them forever. Don't forget him coming back to put the game away in the 2012 finals with one shot before cramping up again. Now he is mad at all the people mocking something he can't really control. His health so we will see a really pissed off LeBron tomorrow
