Just a year ago he was the homeless man with the ‘golden voice' begging on the side of the highway.
Now – after cashing in on his dulcet tones and finally ditching his drug addiction – Ted Williams is at last living the good life.
He lives with his girlfriend Kathy in comfortable condominium – not a cramped cardboard box or drafty tent – in Columbus, Ohio.
The 54-year-old, who - despite two bouts in rehab - has also kicked his crack habit and beaten the bottle thanks to his ‘sober living’ coach Eric.
And, celebrating the year since a YouTube video watched by 18million people propelled him to fame, Mr Williams said: ‘It’s a hallelujah moment every day I wake up.
‘I couldn’t have prayed for anything like this, I couldn’t have dreamed that my life would end up like this.’
To Mr Williams’s immense pride, his new home includes a fireplace he can ‘get butt naked next to if I want’ and a giant walk-in closet that doubles as his recording studio.
‘Look at this closet,’ he beams while being interviewed by Entertainment Tonight. ‘A year ago I was living in a box.
