What is reasonable and rational is that YOUR PPP had a very flawed idea of what economic development was.

What poor logic have you pointed out?  NONE.  Your angst is merely because I remind you of the mess that the PPP left, and the fact that they failed to transform the Guyanese economy.

It was YOU who had a hissy fit when I said that the PPP squandered an opportunity that Guyana will never get again, and that was having a full all weather road to Lethem being built.

Not only did the Brazilians have the money at the time, and a desire to spend it, but they clearly have expertise in building highways in the Amazonian environment.

So continue to demand proof that the PPP was incompetent and corrupt!

You are fabricating this story, Brazil never made any plans to build roads that Jagdeo blocked. In fact every year or 2 they reassert their commitment to building this invisible road.

I asked him to,provide facts but he has been beating around the bush, dodging and weaving.

Caribny, I am more interested in sound logic, good arguments, evidence based discussions, Guyana, among other things. I have pointed to the poor logic of your arguments and to the illogical and racists ranks of others and if you seem to think that my arguments support the PPP, then that was not my intention, but I have no apologies to make.

Throwing  into the discussion what Jagdeo and/or the PpP did when they were in power to justify or digress from, or seek understanding for the missteps of the present coalition is at best amusing. Equating criticism of the coalition with support for Jagdeo andor the PPP is poor logic.

Hissy fit? YOUR PPP? Obvious, you are losing it. You are delusional.

Can you show us where the brazilians signed a financial agreement to build the road or signed financial instruments to fund a road or give us evidence that the previous administration hindered the progress of this project?

did you read that the European Union study found the economic benefits of a paved road to be minimal?

That is his typical style.  He throws a lot of mud and hope that something sticks and when it doesn't he gets frustrated and starts up with his racist rants.

I thought that Georgetown, it's surrounding communities linden are major population centres in Guyana.

You do know that it is YOUR PPP, who you never criticize, who set the precedent for naked logs being exported by Chinese.  You do know that it is YOUR PPP which hasn't forced miners to rehabilitate sites, or pay fines.

You do know that Parika is virtually a suburb of G/town. And that Region 3 is the 3rd most populous, and one of the few where the population is actually growing.

It has been mentioned that Essequibo poses the best site for a deep water harbor.  Definitely NOT Berbice!

In fact Guyana could have become involved in processing some of the same resources from its hinterland, and from Roraima.

Guyana would have added the 400k who live in Roraima, on top of the 725k who live in Guyana.  Our biggest challenge is the small size of our domestic market.

Don't know if you know this but in Roraima many of the more educated were learning English, anticipating greater ties with Guyana.

Canada is a huge exporter of resource based projects.  The thing is they don't sell raw commodities.  They insist on some processing.

Our manufacturing sector can and should be integrated into our mining, forestry, and agricultural sectors.

How can that be if primitive transportation makes this inordinately expensive?

1. You really need to take a trip to Guyana if you think that Parika is virtually a suburb of Georgetown. It pains me how little you know about Guyana and its people. Take a trip to kaieteur, ride the speedboats to leguan, Bartica and supernaam, take the minibus or plane to,lethem or mabaruma. Ride the ferry to charity, cross over from lethem to Brazil and enjoy the cultural diversity in both let them, walk along regent street and gaffe with the guy selling water coconut,, etc. Really experience guyana.

2. Setting up,paper tigers again with statements about having the deep sea port in Berbice. Please show me where I advocated a deep sea port in Berbice, if that is what you are trying to imply.

3. Your statements about the Canadian economy are wrong. The recent fall in oil prices and its impact on the Canadian economy proves how wrong your statement is.  Please give us the applicable Canadian laws or initiatives that prohibit or discourage the export of raw commodities and the requirement for some processing.

4. Please provide the source to confirm your claim that in Rorina, many businessmen, etc are learning English. I am trying to get to what you mean by "many" I think that in every country, you will have many people, including businessmen learning English.

So show the evidence where Jagdeo blocked the road and Brazil had the money ready to invest, not just talk.

Evidence.  Every conversation about the road and the Takatu bridge came from Brazil.

The only reason why Brazil had any interest in Guyana was because they wanted access to the Atlantic.   A powerful man like Lula wouldn't have bothered with Guyana but for this.

In fact one can see massive involvement of Brazil in almost every single South American nation, but for Guyana. Massive investment in infrastructure to places like Bolivia and Paraguay.

But Jagdeo couldn't get a cut so he stalled on the road and port projects.

Please note that T&T is a more important to Brazil than is Guyana.  Guyana cannot even compete to get a share of the massive Brazilian market for rice!

Look at how enraged you are that I dare criticize the PPP.  If you claim that you don't support them, nor do you care about them, why your endless screams about "furnishing proof".

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-25920580

Brazil, even in its current broke state is building modern port in Cuba, which definitely doesn't have the $$$ to pay Brazil to do this.

Any way if and when Guyana gets oil, it will be shipped to T&T for processing, as Guyana lacks proper port facilities.

http://www.stabroeknews.com/20...e-brazilian-gateway/

This when Brazil got tired of Guyana.   You will note Brazil's desire to build, and even submitting a proposal about how this could ne financed.

Any evidence that this project got the priority from the PPP that the 8 jet way mega airport got? 8 jet ways when Guyana struggles to get 3 planes on the ground at any particular time!

By the way put in a proper highway from Parika to the Demerara bridge and Parika becomes close to G/town.  It lies within easy reach of 2/3 of the population of Guyana, compared with Berbice, which is considerably more remote.

Forget about Brazil, the coalition government over there is about to crumble and the country will enter an economic tailspin.  Investors are already running for the hills.

Yes.  The PPP blew it.  Bottom line is the PPPs idea of development was limited to projects where they get engage in Grand Theft.

I have been asking PPP frauds like you about what "revolutionary" ideas that the PPP had to transform Guyana.  SILENCE from the peanut stand!

Now imagine if we had a proper deep water port and an additional 400,000 people able to consume Guyanese made products.

Guyanese cool aid..perfected by Jim Jones.
