In my book if you were born in Guyana, then you can be called a Guyanese. If you were born in another country you should be referenced as a citizen of that country, with Guyanese roots, or whatever other country roots you have.

 

If you became a citizen of another country, like in my case, I am a Guyanese Canadian.

i love guyana but my wife and children never want to go back my children born in canada and when ever i talk about taking them to guyana for a holiday they laugh at me i have a business in guyana and i am always down there one time my son went with me for 2 months one day he call me from the city and told me to book his flight back to canada i ask him why the hurry he told me he had enough of the trafic cops they always stopping him for nothing and he have to pay them money

My nieces & nephews who are born in Canada are Canadians by birth... their parents are Naturalized Canadian Citizens...
