i didn't even know we had Guyanese homeless in NY (not that it can't happen to anyone). I just never saw one.
I see this guy all the time. He's is actually an intelligent chap but have mental issues....like many New Yorkers. There are lots of a Guyanese on the street nowadays. Economic woes hit hard. old people picking up bottles to earn a livelihood.
TI, do something. Start up an organization for disadvantaged Guyanese.

I feel that those with mental health issues are being left behind by society and lack any real network to assist them with their problems. As a society, we have forgotten these people who are victims of a terrible illness.

I remember an older guyanese man who use to pick up bottles in Richmond Hill. Don't think it was him though. sad that these people, old or young, don't have family members to support them.
They do have family members who are willing to support them but many chose to be living on the street drinkng alcohol.
