STABROEK NEWS, JULY 19 --- A head found on Thursday near where two severed arms were found on Long Island, New York might be part of the dismembered body of Guyanese, Chinelle Browne.

Police are still to officially link the body parts to Browne, a Brooklyn-based Guyanese mother of four, who was last seen on July 5. This is according to The Washington Post, which stated that the head was found in a thick, black plastic grocery bag on Thursday night in a yard in Hempstead near where the severed arms had been discovered.

Three days after Browne was reported missing, Suffolk police responded to a 911 call from a weed-strewn Long Island parking lot. There they found a torso and legs.

The next day, an arm was found on the lawn of a Hempstead home around 2 pm. According to the Post report, another arm was discovered a quarter-mile down the road.

While the police are awaiting the results of DNA tests to confirm whether the severed limbs belong to the body and whether the body is Browne’s, a police source had said that a tattoo on one of the body parts matched one seen in photos of Browne.

The woman’s husband Dale Browne, who resides in Guyana with their children, lost contact with her on July 5.
