I lived about 5 mins away from this Lock in the 70's.

The Peterborough Lift Lock was designated a national historic site of Canada because: it is the highest hydraulic lift lock in the world.

I don't recall seeing that even though I have been in Peterborough but I do remember the Red Dog bar, lots of heavy tunes..sexy women...and so on

It's on the same street and not too far from the Red Dog Pub. You should play there sometime. The Irish would enjoy your music. There is a lookout place nearby.
