Taxi driver Gurmeet Singh, charged in rape,

A taxi driver charged with raping a passenger blamed the DNA match that nailed him on back-seat hanky panky with prostitutes, court papers revealed.

"I did not rape anybody," Gurmeet Singh, 40, told police, according to the criminal complaint. "Sometimes I pick up women, call girls, off the street and have sex with them."

His statements were made public when the married father of two was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court Wednesday morning. He was ordered held on $1 million bail.

Singh was busted after cops investigating a September rape in Harlem tricked him into coming to a meeting at the Taxi and Limousine Commission office, sources said.

The disguised detectives offered him a drink of water, then saved the cup. Singh’s DNA did not match the attacker in the Harlem case, but it did match a different case involving a 26-year-old woman raped at gunpoint in a cab on May 6 in Brooklyn.

The victim said she was inebriated and in the back seat when the hack tied her hands, raped her and stole $20 and her cell phone.

Singh was charged with the Brooklyn attack; the Harlem incident is still being investigated, police said.

Singh, of Jamaica, Queens, who has been driving a yellow taxi for more than 12 years, initially denied any inappropriate behavior, court papers suggest.

"I never had sex in the back of the cab," he was quoted as telling investigators.

After admitting to paying hookers, he still insisted he did not violate the 26-year-old.

"I don't know how my DNA got in her vagina," he said.
