OK Folks!

How often do you meet or run into people like that ?

THEY CAN'T STOP BRAGGING ABOUT HOW BUSY THEY ARE ?

There is a name for such people.

What they are doing is trying to impress others---calling attention to themselves.

Many of the "I am sooooo busy" types are show-offs----they want folks to be impressed by their so-called busyness.

HAVE YOU FOLKS EVER RUN INTO SUCH PEOPLE ?

Listen!

Regardless of what you do---at times you will be extremely busy---and when you are extremely busy----just immerse yourself in what you are doing---and get the job done.

But when you start talking about the long hours you spend at the office or how the work is keeping you away from family functions----in reality you are BRAGGING---wanting to impress people about how important you are.

Well, you are not important----you are a FAKE---a big talker---a boaster---and a grandstander.

So I went to a function on Saturday night and ran into this bloke---and he was carrying on about his long hours at the office---and even mentioned how he missed his son's choir practice.

WELL THE REV DON'T TOLERATE SHOW OFFS.

I told him bluntly if he worked for me I'd fire him---and he needs to be more efficient at work.

The man was pi$$ed off and avoided me for the rest of the evening.hahahaha

But there are people like that----they try to impress others with their so-called busyness. I have very little tolerance and patience for windbags and showoffs.

I'm too busy to answer your question, Rev.

Reading all these posts on GNI Social and Political takes up my free time.

Gilly:

The Rev highly recommends you take that speed reading course---you'll then have ample time to respond to the Rev's question.hahaha

Riya:

You are right. Fake is the wrong word. But the Rev maintains that there are some folks who brag about their so called busyness in order to feel important or to show off.

Listen! Everyone gets busy sometimes or pretends to be busy sometimes---or like Nehru above---he is always busy when it comes to treating his out of town friends at a bar or restaurant.hahahaha

Just kidding Nehru bhai.

Look. If the first lady asks me to do something---and I don't feel like---my excuse is "I am busy"----then I usually hear----"Busy my a$$---go and get me blah, blah, blah..."hahaha

OK Riya! The Rev is busy---have to attend to some matters---later.

Senor Rev, I don't think people say "I'm busy" to show off. Some days I truly don't know where the hours go and if I say I'm busy, I won't want to be perceived as being a fake or show off.

On a different note, "I'm busy" could be a self fulfilling prophecy...you think busy, feel busy, show busy, then you'll be busy.

Mira:

All of us get caught up using the phrase "I'm busy."

But there are some people who lament about their busyness---and you know they are trying to impress you and project some degree of self importance.

Listen!

When I was a young investment banker---us young analysts would get to work around 8AM.

Here's the routine:

* we'd go to the cafeteria and order breakfast

* around noon---back to the cafeteria for lunch.

* Then around 6PM---we ordered in food---charged it to the accounts we were working on---a bunch of us would sit in a conference room and have dinner together.

* Finally around 8PM we'd get down to some serious work.

* Some time around midnight we'd call the car service---and head home.

Next day we'd all be bragging about how busy we were and the 16 hours we spent at the office.hahahaha

So the Rev is quite versed in the tricks these pretenders pull---bragging about being soooooooo busy.

BEEN THERE DONE THAT.
