place look so much different now, cant recognize the area.
I was shocked when i saw the stelling on my last trip there in 2011.
the place is very different....they have a lil market in there now
looks nothing like the stelling we know
they also use it to board the boats that go over to G/town.
have great memories of that stelling and travelling on makoura (hubby and i met there)
The stelling was built in 1964, replacing a small structure. At that time the newspapers described it as the best in the Caribbean. The subject minister EMG Wilson and the then Premier Dr Cheddi Jagan attended the launching/opening ceremony.

This video must be taken last year. I see the 2 chinee ferry boats (Sabanto & Kanawan) park up by Stabroek Market. These ferry boats are running now between Parika & Supenaam. Speed comparable to speed boats - ferry takes 1-1/2 hr and speed boats take 1 hr. Malali used to take 4+ hrs.
