Cannot get out until they release you Roll Eyes
The last two days was the most tiresome sitting in a courthouse just waiting.

Anybody ever called up for jury duty and what did you do to pass the time.

Took laptop and log on to GNI. Can blow a lot of time and steam this way. Smile

I was called about seven years ago, went through the same thing, waiting around for two days then sent home.
(Friday you will get out early, they don't like working late on a Friday)
They then told us that we can not be called until after three years is up, Very next year, I was called I sent them a letter explaining I was there, check their records. Very next year after, called again, sent another letter.
I recd another letter about two months ago and was to show up two weeks ago but got the company to do up a letter stating that I'm ...ahem...too important to be away for a period of time at the moment, I was given a break, got away with it but was told they could be calling me up again in the near future. What a waste of time, even though I would be paid for it through our company I didn't want to be there.

Whatderass they want me to be a judge or sumthin'?

I just remembered the last time I went in to court,I had a penknife on me,at first glance it was a crucifix but when you got a good look at it, it opened to a three inch blade knife.
They handed it back to me and was told to discard it. I went outside and found what I thought was a good hiding spot.
After court went back to the spot...gone fo channa. That was a sweet knife too.

I'm sure Jesu would have agreed. Big Grin

There is no safe hiding place near a court. Too many criminals around. Smile

Wasn't Cain the world's first judge?
He handed down the death penalty on Abel, didn't he?
Seems like a lot of people agreed justice was served well; that's why our GNI Cain is in high demand by the Canadian justice system. Smile

Walk with a book...

In Ny - if you are not called by the end ot the 2nd day, you are released until either 6 years or 8 years to be called again.

The Judge don't let you get away so easy with execuses and they usually know when you are trying to purposely get out of it.

I read a bit but felt tired, slept a bit but think I snored and irritate a few people.
i guess when the accuse hear your snore he was begging to go to jail

Rosi, I've been called a few times, but never had to go in. I sent letters with reasons why I couldn't serve at that particular time.
