Stinger, this picture was taken in February 1966 when Queen Elizabeth II visited British Guiana.

Laila Kissoon was doing the politically correct thing because she was still a colonial subject.

Three months after this pic, Guyana became an independent country within the British Commonwealth.

Incidentally, before getting Canadian citizenship I had to swear allegiance to the same Queen Elizabeth II who is Canada's Head of State, represented by the Governor-General.
