Hello guys,

Curiosity strikes me again.

My sister and I would like to visit Guyana in the near future as it became one of the must visit places for our vacation

Thing is, we were curious about hotel and entertainment and when is a good time to come (what annual events locals look forward to) I was hoping you guys and gals can enlighten me on the ins and outs of Guyana.

Greatly appreciated.

Janique:

You mentioned the magic word---"curiosity"---it's curiosity that compels one to go out there an adventure.

TOURISM IN GUYANA

Guyana is an amazing blend of the Caribbean and South America. The name Guyana is an Amerindian word meaning "Land of Many Waters". Guyana offers a distinct tourism product, consisting of vast open spaces, savannahs, pristine rainforests, mountains, rivers, waterfalls, bountiful wildlife, numerous species of flora, a variety of fauna, spectacular birdlife and most of all the hospitality of the Guyanese people.

Our interior is an eco tourist's dream with multitude of immense and striking waterfalls, creeks and rivers; virgin rainforest; an abundance of wildlife that includes more than 800 species of birds and over 1000 tree species in its savannahs.

Thanks again. I'll definitely look into it

I have a friend name Guru in the Village of Bush Lot, he can take you on a sweet water fishing expedition. He does catch 100 Hassar before 10 in the morning. He can also take you to Sugar Daddy at Port Maurant.

your low life pedigree is showing. Unless your friend stacked his pond with Hassar over night there is no way he will catch that many without poaching them from some farmer. I do not know Sugar Daddy but with a name like that one cannot expect "any starred" service. It is with certainty that she will risked being pawed at least once by the village louts. Guru the hassar catcher is not looking like a good  prospect for a tourist guide.

I would suggest that you avoid the country at all cost. Visit Suriname instead. Going to Guyana could be a one way ticket. Death awaits the uninformed visitor.
