Amitabh Bachchan

He is the son of noted Hindi poet, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most educated celebrities in Bollywood. After completing his graduation, Mr Bachchan went on to obtain a double major in Science and Arts from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University. The legendary actor also has an honorary doctorate degree from Queensland University in Australia.

Shruti Haasan

She is an Indian film actress and singer who works predominantly in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi language films. She is the daughter of veteran actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika Thakur. Shruti Haasan did her schooling at Abacus Montessori School. After completing 10th grade, she moved to Mumbai to study psychology at St. Andrew’s College. Eventually, she shifted her focus to music and cinema and went on to undergo training at the Musicians Institute in California. She is also the vocalist of rock band, The Extramentals.

Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan was born in Delhi in a middle-class family. He did his schooling at St, Columba’s School where the actor was awarded the ‘Sword of Honour’ (the greatest felicitation given to a student by the institution) for being an exceptional student. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hansraj College, Delhi University. After Hansraj, he began studying for a master’s degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia. He also attended the National School of Drama in Delhi during his early career in Bollywood.

Vidya Balan

She is a Hindi films actress and is the recipient of several awards, including a National Film Award, five Filmfare Awards, and six Screen Awards. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2014. Vidya Balan wanted to be an actress but her parents stressed on the importance of education. The popular actress has a Bachelor’s degree from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. She also holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from the Mumbai University. When director Anurag Basu offered her a role in a soap opera, she rejected it as she wanted to complete her studies and later venture into films.

Parineeti Chopra

She was born in Haryana into a Punjabi family, Parineeti received her early education at the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Ambala Cantonment. She had moved to London at the age of 17 with the dream of becoming an investment banker. Parineeti has a triple honours degree in business, finance and economics from Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom. She returned to India during 2009 during the economic recession and joined Yash Raj Films as a public relations consultant.

Preity Zinta

She is known for her dimples and bubbly roles in the Hindi film industry, apart from Hindi she has done films in Telugu, Punjabi and English language. She studied at the Convent of Jesus and Mary boarding school in Shimla. As a student, she developed a love for literature, particularly the works of William Shakespeare and poetry. She has completed her bachelor’s degree in English with honours from St. Bede’s College, Shimla and a Master’s degree in Criminal Psychology.
