LONDON — As the race ended and the clock froze Tuesday night, Dawn Harper, an American hurdler, pranced and preened, posing for photographers in celebration of her silver in the 100-meter hurdles final, wrapping the stars and stripes around her shoulders. To her side, American Kellie Wells, the bronze medalist, circled in for congratulations. Behind both, Lolo Jones, the lone American in the race without a medal, walked away in silence after finishing fourth, 23 hundredths behind gold medalist Australian Long in Jones’ considerable shadow, Harper and Wells welcomed the spotlight. “They can’t leave me out because I ‘ll be in all the pictures on the podium,” Wells said. Jones, 30, ran through the line, leaning in for good measure, but her bid to claim the gold that eluded her in Beijing remained out of reach as Pearson set a blistering pace from the start and never slowed. Jones, wearing shades beneath the stadium lights, felt her form was strong through the first four hurdles and she cleared all 10, unlike 2008 when she clipped the ninth, next-to-last hurdle and fell from the lead to seventh place. Still, she could not overcome Pearson and her pair of compatriots. “Obviously, I’m crushed,” Jones said. She added later, “I guess all the people talking about me can have their night and laugh.”
I wonder if Lolo is her given name, cause many old people in RH when taking a Taxi to go to Funerals at ELCOCK Funeral Home does tell the driver to drop them at EL LOLO Funeral Home.
