The first time we really saw some talent brewing out from Arbaaz was Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya where he played a possessive brother to Kajol in the film. His next memorable performance was in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na where he helps Imran Khan to run away from the jail on a horse to the airport to propose Genelia.

Tides turned for him when he ventured into production in 2010 with Dabangg. Rest we know is history. He made Malaika a household name or say people better know her as Munni whose badnaam song in the famous film franchise is unforgettable. They rose together and struggled together.

Both Malaika and Arbaaz hadn’t made it too big until they both ventured into production and Dabangg happened. They were always private about their personal life and it was only after film production that we started seeing this gorgeous looking couple out in public.

In an interview to TOI, Malaika spilled more beans on her relationship. She said, “Even before I had shot the MR coffee ad with him, Amu (Amrita Arora) and I had gone clubbing one night when we saw Arbaaz and his friend Sajid Khan DJing. My sister was nuts about Salman, just like all other girls, as he was a big star even then. But for me, when I saw Arbaaz, I told her, 'You girls like Salman right? I like him. He is my kind of guy.”

December 12, 1998 was their big day. After a beautiful church wedding, they had a nikah with dear and near ones at the ceremonies.

Malaika was never too much in the limelight post that while she had their baby Arhaan in 2002. Power Couple
Love was intact and perhaps her statements were proving so. “He has done a lot of romantic things for me, but there is one thing that he keeps on saying and it is, 'baby we are getting old together'. So, I imagine myself getting old together with him."

She was vocal about their relationship of 17 years and said, “His ability to laugh at himself is what I like. And, what irritates me is that he is untidy.”

Arbaaz also made sure to compliment his immensely sexy wife all the time. “She plays every role of women brilliantly. She is very balanced with that. But, she does not accept her faults easily.”

Arbaaz sometimes sounded like this love guru as he was quoted, “It’s very important to give each other some space. If you smother anyone, somewhere or the other, it pressurises the person. If you love someone truly, set them free.” He was always praises about her, “I’m myself when I’m with Malaika. There’s no pretence. I’m not trying to be someone else to please her. I just show what I am and she loves me for just being me. I love the way she managed to balance time between career and family and I can tell you she has sacrificed work for family too. They took their romance to the next level when they renewed their wedding wows on their 10th anniversary.

The ‘other’ person
Trouble in their paradise popped up when Malaika was linked to Arjun Kapoor who has previously dated her sister in law Arpita Khan Sharma. On this she broke her silence and said, “Arjun is somebody I have known for a long time. He’s a very good friend of mine. Unfortunately, people misconstrue things, which is very sad because then an awkwardness seeps into the relationship.”

Arbaaz too was linked to a girl called Yellow Mehra and his Instagram is proof of it.

Malaika and Arbaaz have filed for divorce despite maintaining dignified silence and being spotted at family events and pictures. Malaika is still said to be dating Arjun and she wants the custody of her son. Arbaaz made dubsmashes to emote his thoughts but the mess is done and now it will be dusted.

According to a report published in a gossip tabloid online, Malaika met with her lawyer Vandana Shah, all the legal proceedings are being taken care of and apparently the actress has made 3 claims that she will address in the divorce petition.
1. “I want to divorce Arbaaz because our marriage has failed to give me any financial stability.”
2. “My husband and his family want that I start leading a simple and domestic life, which I will not.”
3. “I shall never forbid my son from meeting his father after the divorce, but I should get his custody at any cost whatsoever.”
While Salim Khan dismissed the question saying, "I am a writer, don't ask me about anyone's love affair or break-up reports. I never interfere in the life of my kids. I don't want to talk about it." Malaika's mother was also hesitant to answer the question and said, "They are two grown up adults. It is their business. I don't want to get into it. I don't want to talk to the press.''
