Brian McCarthy, the son of Marriott president Robert McCarthy, won $107 million in the lottery. I guess he can just put that with the rest...
Brian McCarthy, 25, went into a Virginia grocery store to use an ATM. On a whim, he decided to purchase five lottery tickets without even picking his own numbers. A couple days later, he went on facebook to check what the numbers were, and got quite the surprise.
He told ABC's Washington D.C. affiliate WJLA, "I jumped out of bed, poured my wallet out and looked at the numbers and I had the ticket. I'd like my family to be able to enjoy it as much as I can. And also help out some charities along the way."
McCarthy has since left his account manager job at Pepsi and has already begun spending some money. He took a golf trip to Ireland, travelled to Alaska with his sister, and bought a $59,000 BMW M3. He also donated $25,000 each to two charities
