Mister Gay Italy finalists prepare for showdown Friday

Annual beauty pageant in its 16th year

(ANSA) - Torre del Lago, August 22 - Finalists in the 16th edition of Mister Gay Italy are spiffing up and getting ready for the showdown Friday when this year's winner will be crowned.

The event, organized by Gay.it and under the patronage of the leading Italian gay association Arcigay, will feature contestants from 14 regions and from all walks of life, including a divorced father of a three-year-old boy.

Participants will model casual clothes, classic wear and swimsuits for a jury composed of personalities from the worlds of culture, journalism, politics and entertainment.

'Most Beautiful Daddy' crowned at 19th annual competition

Father dedicates his victory to his family

(ANSA) - Forli, August 23 - Twenty-nine-year old Francesco Perozzi from Verona seized the title of Italy's 'Most Beautiful Daddy' after beating 17 other finalists in the 'diaper-change' and 'dance with mother-in-law' categories on Thursday.

Organizers of the annual pageant in the seaside town of Gatteo Mare crowned the winner at the 19th edition not only for his winning good looks, but also his demonstration of family values.

The 2012-2013 title holder won over the jury for his rendition of "Meraviglioso" by Domenico Modugno sung in front of a crowd of 3,000 attendees.

Perozzi, married for one year and father for 9 months, dedicated the victory to his family. Other pageant titles included 'Most Elegant Father' and 'Friendliest Dad'.
