Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler

November 9, 2013 (RIA Novosti) - Miss Venezuela Gabriela Isler was crowned Miss Universe 2013 on Saturday beating 85 other contestants at a glittering ceremony in Moscow.

Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo from USA hander over the $120,000 Diamond Nexus crown to Isler, 25.

Miss Spain Patricia Yurena Rodriguez is the first runner-up and Miss Ecuador Constanza Baez is the second runner-up.

The finalists also included national beauty queens from Costa Rica, Ukraine, China, Britain, Indonesia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the United States, Nicaragua, Switzerland, India, Brazil and the Philippines.

Miss Universe pageant, acquired by US property magnate Donald Trump in 1996, was held in Russia for the first time.

So sorry Miss Guyana, Katherina Roshana, did not make it to the finalists stage. Ms Roshana was sponsored by the New GPC owned by Dr Rangisinghi Ramroop, regarded as former President Jagdeo's best friend.

This is Venezuela's 7th Miss Universe (1979, 1982, 1986, 1996, 2008 and 2009). With Spain and Ecuador as runners up, the Spanish are slowly taking over the world.

Winner: Miss Venezuela; First Runner-up: Miss Spain; Second Runner-up: Miss Ecuador.

Spanish-speaking girls came out on top.

Says a lot about Latino women.
