Pakistani educator Ziauddin Yousafzai reminds the world of a simple truth that many don’t want to hear: Women and men deserve equal opportunities for education, autonomy, an independent identity. He tells stories from his own life and the life of his daughter, Malala, who was shot by the Taliban in 2012 simply for daring to go to school. "Why is my daughter so strong?” Yousafzai asks. β€œBecause I didn’t clip her wings."

This is a very moving and inspiring talk by Malala's father.

There are two things you must give your children

Roots and Wings

"we are the light force power of the universe...[] we have the power to choose who and why we want to be in this world"

so proud of that father for going against 'tradition'

Many mothers were taken out of school to be "groomed" for the role of a wife. Or, the parents could not afford the school fees and thought it best to send only the "boy sons" to continue their education.
