My niece in Guyana has someone coming home to clean her place. One day she noticed some US$ missing (she thought it was $100.00) but didn't say anything. The woman continued to come and clean her place and then called suddenly and say she wasn't coming back. My nephew-in-law ask her if she didn't want to come and collect her pay and she said don' bother.

They checked and found out another US$600.00 missing. Before calling the cops they confronted her and told her if she spoke the truth, they wouldn't report it. She admitted to taking the money and then not knowing that my niece only thought she took $100 the last time, she confessed to taking $400.00 which totalled $1,000.00.

Guess what she was doing with the money, she was sending it to her son in the US who was laid off and have no money. She even produced the receipt to show the wire transfer. Frown

I was just thinking the same.

I don't even have that amount of money at home

but to go back to Rosie's intial post....it would be interesting to know where did she tell her son the money is coming from.

My mom is a maid and sending me US$ would make it ask.
