There is no sound card in you laptop. It is a Chip. It is more likely that your drivers are corrupted or your speakers are bad. Try head phones to see if they work. If it still does not work you can get and external sound like soundblaster extigy. Even if your chip was working, this will be far better sound.

It is amazing where you hear some good tunes... only last evening I heard a song from one of the WII games that I like...I must get the name...
