It will not happen. We ALL know the GPF and GDF are packed with PNC supporters. The Civil Service also. Hopefully, the masses will finally see the light at the end of the Tunnel, able to think for themselves, not be FOOLED by the PNC and come together and DEMAND CHANGE, demand that there be good governance, that Taxpayers money are not wasted, that absolute Power is not going to be tolerated/ condone.

I know that Guyana is heading in the PIT, I warned people of the PNC but I guess Cool Aid and Snakeoil did a better jod that I did.

Amral, no they are not happy but you and I know that the PNC etched in their brains that the PPP will not be good for them, that "we must stick together", that they will fet them for a while and make them happy  and they will forget about their troubles. It is PNC Politics as usual. However, I believe MOST people are smarter now and will NOT be easily fooled. That is why I said I hope the masses will finally turn a new page.

Guyana might have to suffer a severe depression and then rise out of it.  The economy cannot sustain the expectation of the people.  Of course we start with the jackasses who gave themselves raises and things have been spiraling downwards ever since.

Guyana is heading for the great correction.

And it doesn't help that people like Volda Lawrence take taxpayers money and give to foreign companies, bypassing the local manufacturers.

How can Guyana head for a correction?  This is a country, it's not the stock market.  Your earlier term is correct - severe depression.

Apologies, I thought he was talking about the economy.   But this is even worse because we all know that is not going to happen.  The problem is lack of education and continuous misinformation.

When people are down and out it would be easier to implement rightful changes.  You just need skillful leadership like an FDR.

That's the problem right there. What constitutes rightful? They are so blinded by party/racial politics that they can't see they are in the same frigging boat.

Exactly.  That's why it will take massive suffering for them to move away from race-based voting.

What are the chances that it could happen one day in Guyana. Granger has had his chance and he and his Administration blew it. Its time to see an uprising

Granger is doing just fine despite his trudging ways and Jesus persona. The nation is not sinking into the sea nor are people in starvation lines. It is just the PPP missing their slurping at the nations trough. They are just itching all over at the possibility they can get  hold of the state so they can pump all the oil cash into their pockets.

The PPP lived off loans and international charity, ruined every industry from sugar to bauxite, to rice and stole half the gold produced. This government was not on any bed of roses and despite their slow learning curve has us on a trajectory that included no hundreds of dollars loans for boutique projects, kicked the Chinese from the forests and can get up front cash from potential earning from oil.

I was against them asking for it 3 years out from production and only on one well but 2 years out and on two wells with potentials for a couple of billions a year in income to do what they want and no debt. The economy is doing just fine despite the loss of sugar, rice, bauxite. Some 600 million income is in from gold and that is fine.  I hope granger et all stay there another term so the PPP dinosaurs would be retired and the incoming can be filled with new creative vigor. Until them, any government but those kleptocrats.

Your hatred of the PPP blinds you D2.  I remember you were once a PPP backer, what happened?  I always thought you were a Moses supporter so it would not be surprising that you move with Moses.

For an intelligent guy, you should be more neutral and give unbiased views.

Right now Guyana is heading down shit creek and a lot of it is based on direct action of the Granger government.  You cannot give yourselves raises and then ask the people to brace themselves when you live the life of luxury and the people are punishing.  The direct consequence of their actions resulted in the need to massively raise taxes which had concomitant negative effects on businesses. They complain about the sugar industry yet the GDF is funded at $10 Billion annually.  What do they do for Guyana?  Will they be able to fight Venezuela?  Absolutely not!

One dumb ass government, but as I said it might result in a good outcome if the people are forced to realize that "their kind" do not serve them.

Absolutely on point. Hypothetically, a coup would involve either the support of the army or a well trained group of mercs. If it's the army, the ethnic composition may lead to further distrust after. If it's mercenaries, they just want to be paid and don't care who gets killed or how much carnage the create. So now you have a group of GDF in charge. How long after will elections be held AND will you get the people to vote on non-racial lines?

Granger has not done any monumental damage to the society. I never supported Moses per se. I liked the idea of the AFC as a foil and supported them.

I am a Guyanese I take only my side. I cuss Granger out daily as you know because I feel it is my duty to do so. I actually do not like him and think he is a monumental dick head. I do like his second in command even less. I am taking them like I would if I drank coffee without sugar...holding my nose.

The PPP was not going to change. They have not changed. I supported them because I felt they knew the society pain and by that aim to heal its wounds. Instead, 23 years of their pillage was enough for a lifetime.

Their rampage at the nations till converting assets to their cronies was unpalatable. NICIL was their private clearance house. Had they been there the Marriot would be in bobby the boob portfolio and all oil income would be spread across the PPP family. Grangers pretence to be Jesus has some advantages.

They were about to request a substantial advance from Exxon but held back because of the outrage after floating the idea. That was a year ago when we had one potential well. We have two now. Exxon said they are on queue to begin pumping in two years. That would be over 3 million a day in income by some accounting. They can ask for a half a billion advance to begin infrastructural planning...the road to brazil etc.

I want them to lay out the infrastructure for money management since they seem to engage the Norweigans to do so and are intent to follow closely the Santiago protocol for Sovereign Wealth Fund creation. I do not trust the PPP to do that. They would have ashne and his wife managing it as they pump the cash into Orlando.
