The fringe group, Shri Rajput Karni Sena, is suddenly all over the news. They have grabbed headlines, but not in a very good way. They have caused a havoc and mayhem around the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat. Even while filming the movie, SLB was attacked by members of the group. When the initial release date was fixed on 1st December, the group made a huge hue and cry about the film over an alleged dream sequence that would show Allaudin Khalji and Padmavati romance. While the makers and the actors had clarified that no such sequence has been shot, the group refused to believe it!

Shri Rajput Karni Sena has time and again created a ruckus around Padmaavat and has finally decided to watch the film when it will release on 25th January 2018. But this is not the only film that the group had a problem with. Here is a list of 3 other films and TV shows that did not go down well with the Karni Sena:

Karni Sena had initially said that the film had undermined Rajput valour. In fact, the objection that they raised was about a factual ambiguity on whether Jodha was Akbar's wife or his daughter-in-law. But the real reason for their protest was the fact that the film showed the marriage between two communities! Many states did protest against the film and many theatres in Rajasthan did not play the film.

The Shri Rajput Karni Sena also opposed the Salman Khan film. According to them, the film had some dialogues that were "derogatory and demeaning for the Rajput community". They also said that the film maligned a brave community of the Rajputs. As a mark of their protest, they even vandalised a few cinema halls in Jaipur that showed the film.
