Why are most people in the obituaries column in the newspaper are smiling ?
Do they know something about afterlife, that we don't ?

Obituaries are a mini biography of the deceased. I would hope that they would be smiling when they took the before pictures, reminiscing on the happier times and the best days before passing.

I think is because they doan know they r dead.
Tola what would your obituary read be like?
He was here before he left.
Curly, more like 'Life's work done on earth'.
Cain in addition 'Party till de 'erbs done'.
In our town 2115 time capsule, in addition to other items, I also placed some Canadian/Guyanese coins and paper money for our grandkids family, saying that I predict in 100 years all purchases will be done electronically. And if I am correct to go to my grave site at the cemetery and say ' Yes Tola you were right'.
Seriously, I left instructions with our kids. None of this depressing funeral crap. To have a large tent in the back yard and invite everyone we know to a party and tell stories, until the BBQ and drinks finish. Bring out all my vintage Guyana rum and have fun. Maybe two three days. I know our Celtic friends and band The Albas will gladly participate, with some rowdy music. Also invite all the neighbours, so they don't call the police.
I am pleased and very contented with life and what I accomplished in my 34 years? on earth.
I video record zillions of funerals and I find them a bit depressing. Life happens as well as death. Acceptance of life and death is the key to living.
