No fever, just this real bad cough that wont go away and giving me a headache.

What natural herb remedies do you prescribe?

Get your behind to a good pulmonary specialist to ensure you have not contracted some exotic bacterial or fungal infection. Further, it could be other causal factors as pulmonary edema. Natural medicine is great for good life habits ie preventative medicine but they are not to be depended on after you are sick with severe symptoms as you have. Meanwhile, try placing a few drops of eucalyptus in t he tub as you take a warm shower. It will ease  your symptoms and help your body fight whatever ails you but only a doctor can diagnose the causal agents and properly treat your disease.

Please follow the advice to see a doctor immediately.  Our good friend and fellow GNIer, Mara is currently bedridden trying to cope with an illness from which he may never recover fully.  He contracted it on a visit to Guyana and did not take it as seriously as he should have when the symptoms first appeared.  He ended up in a coma and his life has been changed forever.  Please don't make the mistake he did.

No need to experiment with herbs if you have had the persistent cough for a few weeks.

If Maximum strength Mucinex or antibiotics not working---ask your doctor to prescribe prednisone---it's a steroid---will reduce the inflammation in the lungs---it is guaranteed to work---will take a few days---don't worry about possible weight gain---you want to get rid of the damn cough.

Is he conscious? I am told that if you do not recover from a malarial coma in the first week, chances are you never will since the parasite would have damaged vital brain function. This is tragic. He was very informed on the area where we grew up and had a wealth of knowledge of the people and its history. I hope he is the exception to the rule.

I hope he gets better.  It has to be difficult for the parasite to break the blood brain barrier or all of us would have seen more of it. I have never seen or heard of it until it was mentioned here and I have been bitten by all sorts of mosquitoes in the interior and on the coast. I can remember building smokestacks from piles of cow manure to make sure the mosquitoes do not bother the cows!

Hope you get professional medical help rather than relying on help from these quacks. Not refering to Cain of course.
