Let's ignore race for now and see if there are more creative ideas/ways to win an election in Guyana..

A plan to conserve the environment....cessation of logs for export( use them locally)...cessation of artisanel mining ( they destroy too much)

A plan to change the constitution to facilitate merit over nepotism. Direct constituencies where parliamentarians are elected by native districts and where their people know them by their works. Create an upper house with ultimate jurisdiction over the purse to ease ethnic nepotism and facilitate ethnic cooperation on national goals.

Transparency in electoral finances

Transparence in procurement

Creation of a professional foreign service core where party hacks no longer get a chance to implant themselves with no capacity for the job.

Create incentives in the army and police to strengthen ethics, diversify its ethnicity  and get the best. An engineering sore, research core should be developed immediately with the best students getting a chance for a free education and a career in many fields.

Reform the judiciary. If the commonwealth standard of a case not being tried in 2 years and a prisoner is being held the case should be forthwith dismissed. If there is a case pending that long also it should be discharged. Each magistrate should be paid based a salary with bonuses for completed cases. A system of ethics strongly enforced should prohibit absence on court dates by lawyers or majistrates. Lawyers should be fined.

Open book tax records for registered companies as in the scandavadian countries so we can know how much companies claim they make.

No minister should head an agency as NIS etc People holding posts as NICIL should be term limited or have to come back to parliament for confirmation after a designated periot. A civilian commission should be in charge of hiring such a person and that person should be up with their reporting on the nations assets every quarter with complete presentations on a yearly basis.

and so on and so on.

* That's it right there---TRUST!

* Voters ask themselves which party do I trust or have confidence in to meet my needs.

* In the last election, 48.6% trusted the PPP to meet their needs; 40.8% trusted the PNC; 10.3% trusted the AFC.

* In the next election, the PPP will go to voters and say to them how can you TRUST David Granger to rule Guyana---the man has RIGGED his own party election.

Guyanese don't trust any of them too much...need another message that would not include a weakness, and trust is a weakness

Raymond:

* There is no message from any party that would resonate with 100% of the voters.

* Voters tend to believe messages that agree with their own reason and their own common sense.

* For example, in the upcoming election, whatever message the PPP preaches, 49% of the people would consider it bunk/crap/nonsense--they'll vote for the PNC and AFC.

* And whatever the PNC/AFC preaches, 51% of the people would consider it foolishness.

BOTTOM LINE:

* Nearly half of Guyanese will always be unhappy regardless of which party is victorious.

* The question you should be asking is what message the parties should put out to appeal to the undecided.

* Remember, hardcore PPP supporters will vote for the PPP no matter what. And hardcore PNC supporters will vote for the PNC no matter what.

* But in every election, there is always 10-12% of the voters who care for neither the PPP nor PNC.

* In the last 2 elections the AFC did well with that 10-12% group----the AFC got 8.1% of the votes in 2006 and 10.3% in 2011.

* Now, in the next election the PPP needs to pull some some supporters away from the AFC.

* SO WHAT MESSAGE SHOULD THE PPP MESSAGE BE ?

HERE IS THE PPP MESSAGE:

If you want gridlock, if you want stalemate, if you want malaise, if you want Guyana to walk backward, if you want no progress and no development vote for the AFC and their partner in parliament the PNC. But if you want to see Guyana grow by leaps and bounds, vote for the PPP to become a majority party. The PPP will give you hydro--that's cheap electricity for you---the PPP will build that specialty hospital---that's better healthcare for all Guyanese---the PPP will keep moving Guyana forward; the PNC and AFC will walk the country backward.

* That's the message right there----it will not resonate with PPP HATERS---but hopefully it will help the PPP cross the 50% mark.

Bill Clinton did it Best.

Connect with the people go to the grassroots.

Rammo and PPP to Guyana:

We made mistakes in the past and will correct them.

We are listening to your concerns.

We feel your pain, I understand and will govern for all people.

We will create jobs, especially for the young and unemployed.

We will provide cheap electricity, modernize the Airport, Build a modern hospital for the sick.

We will reduce taxes for the middle class.

We will reduce crime and poverty.

We will work with disadvantaged communities in bringing back a sense of dignity.

We will modernize the police force.

We will eliminate corruption and bring transparency in my second term.

To make this possible, we need a majority government to end the current gridlock in parliament by the combined opposition who are not working for you the people but instead they are working for their personal interest.

On election day, Vote PPP, Vote for a Majority. Your future lies in your hand, vote wisely.

In these times, there are opportunities to move away from race based voting

You need someone with a solid message....one that will overcome the race factor.

SOme people stuck in the mud with the old way of thinking...those are hopeless...find a way to appeal to the ones that wouldn't mind change

Do you believe what politicians say? They believe a win at all cost. The message might be there; but it's not going to happen.

I am not a Harvard man but I have walked the halls of Ivy...there. Even at howard we were not taught to be acquiescent in the face of oppression. We were thought of the necessity to confront   and always speak truth to power. It is why our graduates are everywhere in the trenches confronting what ails mankind.

Do you think that list of slogans above is going to move peopel when they are confronted with instances of the Marriott, the berbice river bridge, the Bai Shan lin  as sores on their backsides from PPP crony capitalism? The People at Albion cannot get road. The one next to where Latchana rice mill that goes into Guava Bush is a big trench, Fyrish road is driving around ponds....Vryhead is a cesspool and the list goes on

Wake up pretending you are all of that and others are your inferiors will not make you better. By your works you will be known and like the PPP so far you have been measured and found wanting.

One picture of the Chinese pillage shown to a man in s shack and the AFC has a vote in the bank. We can find at least 10000 of these in berbice easily.
