* OK Cool! I know that area. It's a lovely place to live if you're an outdoors kind of person. Maybe next time I visit we can go for a bike ride together.

Schrieffer looks easy but it is not. YOu have to be fit. It does not have lots of really technical parts but it goes up and down and all the time. You do need a very good full suspension bike since there are lots of roots and the hill where I took the pictures is actually rocky and the downhills are bumpy. It also has a section along the ridge line with the river below.  We usefully take about an hour  to complete the yellow trail and it is just over 8 miles. If you look at position 4:00 on the below video you will see it is where I took the pictures with my friends above. Only the season is different. I took those last April.

I live about 10 mins from the park.

That is my beagle Daisy in the leaves. She is 11 years old and despite being on the small side 23 lbs, she is fierce, brave and does not back down from anything. I have another beagle and a rottie and she bullies both of them.

Got Daisy when she was 11 months old. She was not wanted by the people that owned her. I got her in Kansas. Got the others when she was 6, both were not wanted by the people that had them. They get along. The rottie was 45 lbs when I got him and he is now 129. The other beagle is 45 lbs. She and the rottie are the same age. They like to visit with my daughters but daisy does not.  I guess it is because they do not mind jogging or running behind skateboards and bikes. Daisy does not run unless she wants to and that is if she sees a rabbit or a cat. She dislikes cats ( except ours).

no way to beat a golden retriever. They are gentle dogs made to just love completely. King Charles are sickly dogs, If a mix fine. Beagles are strong healthy dogs but they need a pack. They cannot be by themselves for extended periods. They will make a racket and they are the loudest dogs ever. If they will always be close to their pack member and not lonely they are perfect. You just remember if you get a beagle, you get a shadow. They do not leave your side even for a minute.  They are golden retrievers with an independent minds. But just know  are very persistent and will never give up if they want something ie go for a walk. You cannot hide anything from them so do not try,

They also follow their nose completely so unless you are persistent in training them to obey your commands they cannot be trusted off leash. They will chase after a scent they like mindlessly, chase rabbits, squirrels etc. I love beagles and will get another from the pound soon. They are so damn cute!

Dogs are accepting. They will accept any other dog if they know you think the dog is important to you. Only insecure dogs do not like other dogs,They are insecure because they had abusive people in their lives or the house has competition for affection and they see favoritism going on. Dogs imitate you. Their only reason for being is to please you. They know everything about you before you even know it.

I  never tried the off roading, I tend to stick to road riding. That off roading is like being in the circus.

Plus all that bumping up and down does bruise up your nuts and bamsie! I bet Stormie have to cream up!

Fl peeps have their grass to worry about, not leaves.  I know this chap had to pay $800 airfare to fly down for a day and mow his lawn and fly back home. The city was fining him daily for high grass, and Pablo was missing.

I believe that. A guy I know who has a winter home in my area was fined for hanging branches from his palm trees and had to come. Pablo is missing

Bike path behind our house

Fixing a broken chain on Adam's bike

bike I rode today...Gary fisher Cake  ..older bike but we were on a fairly rocky trail so we all rode bikes that we can beat up.

We rode this trail today. It is outside Baltimore and it was muddy and slippery leaves on rocks  and not cool as it usually is when dry

Sorry, the bikes these days are like caddy's. They absorb all the hits. I have  three bikes, a 26 ( Cake) a 29 ( Remedy ) and a 27.5 (Remedy ) and they are all Full suspension. My buddies like hard tail since they feel they get more control.

I had gotten rid of all my bikes except 1. My son give me the older cake and I thought I should try the larger remedy.

i have 3 bikes, one that folds in half and perpetually stored in the car trunk, but all unused this year.

Adam is strong and fearless. I actually   ride behind him so I can yell at him not to try excessively dangerous moves. His chain breaks ( and he is on the bigger 8 speed chain here) because he shifts badly ( not poorly)

He is strong so the gear ratios we would use on the middle chain ring or the granny causes him to spin more than he likes so he sometimes go big big and then he exceeds the strength of the chain.He has been improving his cardio so he can go at 88 to 120 revs per min needed to take some of the steep climbs easily and not break the chain.

That bike is his old Gary Fisher Mount Tam and it is a 26 inch. He normally rides a 29er by Gary Fisher as well, a Custom Superfly. That is really expensive and cool bike that takes the kind of beating someone as massive and fit as he is can dish out.
