If more came this year its because there were more seats. Caribbean added 4 nonstops from JFK to GEO with a leased jet, in addition to their normal flights, and EZjet appeared on the scene.

I was simply countering the article posted here on this Discussion Board and carried by new outlets SN, GC, KN, Guyana Times, and Demerara Waves. It is a shame that a government official has to fabricate numbers, when it comes to our tourism industry. We have a wonderful country and should put in place a credible Tourism Campaign to attract those numbers, credibly.

In fact, Suriname had more than 40,000 more tourist than Guyana for 2011 so far. So we still have a way to go in changing the image of our country to attract more tourist, especially from within the Continential South America.
