Quite different from Hoyte's "mo fiah, slo fiah" protests.
A peaceful protest wouldn't do it. Organize cane-cutters across the country to come out with cutlasses.
This is a matter for the courts to decide if the appointment is illegal.

Mits, your position is in line with AFC's leadership, your position seems to be in line with the cowards at the AFC. Please correct me if I am wrong and what is your actual position on this matter ?
Did you speak with Moses or Ramjattan ?

Granger has already proven that he doesn't care what the court thinks. The judge's orders to him have still not been followed.

So you agree the street protest is a waste of time.

Granger knows he can mobilize the PNC army, the PNC police, and the PNC riot and burn thugs at any moment, should the people rebel. Just like Putin, Kim Jung Un, and Mugabe.

No. My comment was about how Granger regard the Court, not how Jagdeo regard the right of the Opposition Party.

So does any other reasonable thinking person. The outstanding criticism is how come Moses and Ramjattan didn't know this when they helped Granger load the cannons.

You see Ksaz, PPP street protest is a waste of time. PNC will unleash their killing machine of mo fiah on the peaceful protests. PNC "Black Gyad" loud mouth supporters can scream and yell at the PPP suporters and the PNC police would do nothing to them but harass the PPP supporters.

Perhaps. However, I cannot condone any actions similar to Hoyte's "mo fiah, slo fiah" ones.

As Borther Kaz pointed out, Moses and Ramjattan helped Granger load up the cannons. These two scoundrels Ramjattan and Moses have no shame whatsoever.
Their next jobs will be to stuff ballot boxes in 2020.
That's all they are worth to Granger.

PPP insiders knew of these two traitors. They were the news carrier to the US embassy. No wonder the PPP did not want them.

Any actions contrary to Granger's warnings might result in unimaginable consequences.
Someone needs to remind Mits that US citizens took to the streets to protest Trump's racist and anti Muslim policies and it worked successfully to stop him in his tracks.
Peaceful protests are essential to raise awareness of the Dictatorial motives of Granger.
Internation organizations, civic bodies, trade unions, human rights organizations etc have already condemned Granger's actions. The opposition has a job to ensure that democracy is maintained.
The AFC Leadership cowards are hiding under their desks endorsing and supporting Granger because their dead meat is stinking across Guyana today.
They need to hide under Granger's skirt for their survival.

Just checking! I am not against the street protest, it's a way of mobilising support. But the real test would be in a proper court.

Ultimately, the streets bring about change. Remember the Movement Against Parking Metres [MAPM]? Thousands rallied around City Hall for over 6 consecutive Thursdays and halted skulduggery. Remember street protests in Tunisia and Egypt 6-7 years ago? Ordinary citizens toppled entrenched dictators. What is needed now is a broad-based Movement Against Patterson [MAP] that should besiege the Elections Commission Office every week. Those organizations that have condemned Granger's action should bring out their supporters and members in peaceful protests --- PPP, FITUG, PSC, GHRA, Bar Association, Chris Ram, Ralph Ramkarran and other sections of civil society.

And we here in the diaspora can do our part. This brings back lots of memories of Sat.

Given that the brother didn't know which end of the pen had the ink, my guess is that he wouldn't know that there is a movement outside his office.

If his ears are clean he will hear the collective shout. Remember what happened at the walls of Jericho? History is a great guide.

I am not sure if his ears are clean either. I notice in the video that Granger was gesturing to him to go sit dahside. Maybe he didn't hear him the first time.

Perhaps, he does not need a pen for everything will be prepared and signed by Granger and Harmon.

Jagdeo was noted to use hooligans with paramilitia gangs during his reign. People like Roger Khan. Your racism and Indo KKK instincts become blatant when you deny this.
Sat Sawh's family even allege that it was the PPP who was behind his murder.
It will not surprise me if he uses similar methods again. The rule of law isn't Jagdeo's modus. The screams of the PPP when Khan was seized is evidence of this.
The PPP would have had higher moral standing if they dumped Jagdeo. They didn't.
Any one who joins forces with Jagdeo in protesting is naïve.

You seem quite threatened by Jagdeo being Opposition Leader. You can't be concerned with the well being of the PPP because that would require you denouncing all your previous sentiments.
Perhaps Granger is just a puppet.
Bring back Moses to the PPP. Is it too late?

Based on what I'm hearing, many folks are in a mood for peaceful protests whether or not Jagdeo is involved. They have my moral support.
Regarding your first sentence, Jagdeo will not be PPP Leader forever. The logic of experience, demographics and winnability will necessitate a new leader/presidential candidate in due course. Perhaps not before 2020 but certainly after that. Personally, I am thinking long term.
ksazma posted:You seem quite threatened by Jagdeo being Opposition Leader.
I am actually not. If the PPP wants to allow APNU/AFC to win the next election they are welcomed to allow the Grand Wizard of the Indo KKK with his "coolie people party" to remain at its head.
As of now the only hope that APNU/AFC have of winning is to have Jagdeo running around Guyana terrifying black and mixed voters to the polls, as he did in 2015.
Now if the PPP wishes to reinvent itself and claim some level of moral superiority they would dump Jagdeo. But I don't expect much from the Indo KKK party. Yes the same one that printed in the Chronicle that blacks are criminal, lazy, violent and of no use to Guyana.
Gilbakka posted:Regarding your first sentence, Jagdeo will not be PPP Leader forever.
So why not begin a new era in Guyanese politics and dump Jagdeo. He has the stench of all that ails politics in Guyana. He will only polarize Guyanese along racial lines. How does his presence help Guyana move forward?
It seems dishonest to condemn Granger's behavior and not also the fact that Jagdeo is equally unfit. They BOTH represent the sordidness of Guyanese politics and why that nation remains the laughing stock of the Caribbean, and among the poorest in the hemisphere.

At this point in time that's a near impossible task because Jagdeo succeeded in neutering key PPP functionaries. I think that if free and fair election is held in 2020 and if the PPP loses with Jagdeo as presidential candidate, the party membership will be emboldened to call for Jagdeo's resignation.

be so as it may, there are not many choices so this will have to do for now. I don't like Jagdeo, but I dislike what Granger did even more
Gilbakka posted:.At this point in time that's a near impossible task because Jagdeo succeeded in neutering key PPP functionaries. .
I suggest that fixing the PPP be your priority and not being used by Jagdeo as part of his Machiavellian plot. Jagdeo submitted a bunch of names to Granger that he knew that Granger wouldn't accept. Given that all of the prior GECOM chairmen were Indians it would be no surprise if a black person was wanted.
Did Jagdeo submit any neutral qualified blacks who could be seen as above board and not in bed with him. Norman McLean is an insult. This was a man who was instrumental in Burnham's rigging, and has now jumped into bed with the PPP and is implicated in the lawlessness of Jagdeo's era.
