Yeah im scared of the bandits too..for funeral n weddings.  But i know many who went home n  enjoyed themselves..they even posted videos/photos  whilst they were in GY n they were safe!! In the past whn i visited..not a soul knew  ..only who picked me up at airport..lol

My sis going for her bday n easter. ..she said her mind heavy n wants to go.  She has been wanting to go for 3 yrs now..1st yr she was in hospital n couldnt travel ..then covid

i cant make it   as i am waiting for a date for possible surgery(foot/toe)  n cant risk a positive covid test as my waiting time will be another 3-6 months

Have u decided?? Where in Gy is the invite from..Esseq, Berbice..or GT /Demerara? I think itis  pretty safe in country areas..i wud be scared in GT where my bro n niece live but another niece is on west dem so i stay there whenever i go n so does my sis. iN laws  r up east coast buti only visit or stay last night there so i can go to airport (thebridge opening from WCD is too much as u have to cross so early ..before 5 am) so its like leaving home around 2 am to get on a 10 am flight ..too much hassle)

Some other stuff came up and I changed my mind. Will go later in the year

This is one of my absolute fav…I have fond memories of my nana singing this as the lead in his chowtal group

anybody throw water on  anyone ? Hope no cow dung n mud in d water . ( once whn i was a lil kid , i went with my aunty to matua on phagwah morning.  On our way home some bad noy had buckets of water mixed eith myf n cow dung n dash it pun we.. messing  up we nice white clothes. I never went to matya on phagwah morning again.

sch was next to sailin trench ( or sude line?? ) with stunk water. The lungayra boys used to wait for dem nice  gurls to throw stink water . .. it took good timing n fast running to escape that!! 1 used to be by the side of trench filling buckets n handing to others on the bridge to throw!!
wicked science student ( boys) stole potassium permanganate solution as abeer!!

anyway my cuz came to-spend Fri n Sat with me .. she put lil powder on my face ( i dont celebrate. ) She brought phulourie n aloo balls, methai, gojha, cassava pone.
she was fasting  so i prepared boil n fry channa , fry ochro n sada roti, sauteed green beans, zucchini sticks , green apple curry, b bhaji . Had a great time!!
