Maybe someone familiar with criminal law may weigh in here but does the fact that the employee knows that she was being recorded relieve the guy of any privacy law violation for broadcasting her voice? Maybe Chief can ask his hot shot lawyer son.

It is ok and legal to tape or record someone without their consent.

This is what I pick up. It would be illegal in Florida since Florida requires the consent of all parties. This would be allowed in New York since NY requires at least one party's consent and the one recording can be that consent. It is federally illegal to record any conversation where the person recording it is not involved in conversation. We had a case in Miami back in the '90s where the renter installing a camera and video taping the naked tenant only was culpable because her voice was caught on the tape. Video taping her naked body was not a crime. Maybe that has changed now.

It's legal but may be inadmissible as evidence.
Depends on what's being recorded.
