Photo: PA By Matthew Day, Warsaw11:22AM BST 24 Jul 2012 Airport staff reported the girl was left in tears after being abandoned at Katowice airport while the rest of her family boarded a flight to Greece. Her parents had failed to notice that her passport had expired on May 25. Although a grandmother arrived later to collect the girl, police are investigating whether the well being of the child was threatened when her parents left, and are also checking the family's background. "There are reports that the girl was hysterical when her mother left, and we want to check this," said Rafal Biczysko, a police spokesman.

I saw a story the other day where two women shoplifted something from Walmart and took off running when the security woman tried to accost them. Trouble is that they off leaving an infant in the shopping cart. The police found them and placed them under arrect and the infant is now with the DCF. I can't reconcile the cost of the lost with the gain of the shoplifted item. Some people are really foolish.

Couple ditch child at airport after finding her passport expired.

On arriving at the airport to leave for a two-week trip to Greece, a Polish couple realised, too late, that their two-year-old daughter's passport had expired. What a quandary! Do they miss out on the holiday or ditch the girl and catch the flight?

Amazingly, the couple decided they couldn't pass up the chance of a couple of weeks in the sun and apparently thought that toddlers can look after themselves all alone in an airport.

Staff working at Katowice airport discovered the abandoned child in tears.

How many Poles does it take to ditch a kid?

How could any couple leave their two-year-old child abandoned and enjoy a vacation on a foreign soil? This takes the cream out of me.

Did they expect to find the child there waiting for them when they came back?

Some folks have no heart.

We had a similar situation when we were going to Costa Rica once..and we preferrred to turn back and come home..Lost the airline tickets because we forgot to use them within a year.
