Porkpie didn't enjoy any sort of fame compared to Desmond.

I met the actor who played the role of Porkpie. He had let fame go to his head.

An interesting side fact is that the tall guy who played the banker in Desmond went out at the time of the series with a girl who ran a hairdressing business together with my wife.  So I used to run into him quite often.

Mr. Ram.  I met him many years ago in London before he became famous. I found him to be a nice man.  He loved Dr.Jagan and Mrs Jagan alot.

Wally, Ram John Holder aka Porkpie was a PYO member in Guyana from the late 1950s up to when he migrated after the February 1962 Black Friday burning-looting in G/T. He later composed and recorded a beautiful and touching song titled "Guiana."  One line says, "... but me home will always be Guiana, whey dem children always play...Guiana...."
