Why are PPP party leaders NOT concerned about corruption? Even after the flaking they got from Transparency International, they still remain oblivious to the FACT that corruption will shake the foundations of the political system and will eventually lead to the demise of the PPP and the PNC.

Leaders get their legitimacy from being chosen by the people, and the people can change their leaders at the next election if they aren’t satisfied. The PPP continue to miscalculate that race will continue to be the dominant political consideration in the next elections, failing to read the tea leaves of 2011.

Race politics is on the decline in Guyana!  East Indians are now 40% of the population. 30% of Guyana is now mixed or Amerindians.

The protest by the Amerindians did not happen by accident, the welcoming of the AFC in many former PPP strong holds and places like Linden is not an accident.

The people are quietly making a move and we must trust their judgement of the people, while at the same time continuing to expose the excess of the PPP and their bed fellows in the PNC.

Latest independent poll shows Rammo with 51 percent approval rating. Check out the Rev's latest posting from ordinary Guyanese where they pour scorn on the AFC leaders. They are now labelled as opportunists.

Infighting combined with a lack of unity among the AFC leadership spell doom for a party that initially received a lot of goodwill from Guyanese. They turned out to be the stepchild of the PNC.

The failure of the AFC is quite evident with their ongoing talks to merge the AFC with the PNC.

Mathematically, t he PNC can be in power in the next election. They have a hardened core electorate and can leech from the PPP while the PPP cannot leech from them. The percent advantage the PPP hold are all voters who can flip the switch in a minute. Plus they have to hold  "all of the Indian population"

The PPP has done nothing to reinforce the electorate that they intend to ease up on theft, become more transparent or look to ways to empower the marginalize. Instead they ratchet up on their defense of their autocracy and are more determined  to be secretive with their use of national assets. They also just kicked the Amerindians in the groin. They may be on their way out.  Note also they cannot be an under forty percent minority party and still have any clout politically.

They have the power of incumbency but they also have  the baggage of their 20 year corrupt rule to drag like Jacob's Marleys chains as well.

HOW COULD THE PPP BE ON The DECLINE ? This is wishful thinking on part of the losers who support the AFC---read more:

A just concluded private poll funded by  Guyanese born New York businessman and real estate tycoon George Suraj of Zara Realty has  some encouraging news for President Donald Ramotar and the PPP.

After a year in office a majority of Guyanese voters---51%---claim that they are most satisfied with the leadership of President Ramotar and will vote for him in the next general election.

In the 2011 election Ramotar and the PPP received 48.6% of the votes; APNU received 40.8% and the AFC 10.3%

President Ramotar is now supported by a majority of the Guyanese people, and will form a majority government after the next election.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK PRESIDENT RAMOTAR!

Vishnu Bisram was right about the PPP winning the election--he was wrong about them getting 55%.

Ramo ended up with 48.6%!

But after 1 year as president the Guyanese people are pleased with his leadership---they admire his humility and selflessness---and that private poll says 51% will vote for Ramo in the next election.

By the way stormy--why are you hiding from this AFC thread:

I answer what thread I care to answer. I do not see you contributing to the thread with respect to the PPP cuddling od the convicted druglord rojer khan or the amerind fiasco presently unfolding in Guyana.

I am not into polls or opinion on the ground. I care more about the  administration and the mechanics of their rule. Our unfair electoral system and the pervasive Markossian corruption that is on going. Imagine Ifaart paid 7.1 million for a piece property and the money disappeared into a fund to rehabilitate a failed project in skeldon and they say that is transparency. That is what I care about.

WHY IS IT SO difficult TO SAY WHAT YOU MEAN. " THE mAJORITY OF AFRO GUYANESE WILL VOTE PNC EVEN IF THEY HAVE TO GO BACK TO RICE FLOUR, lINE FOR OIL AND STARVATION. YOUR COURAGE TO STATE FACTS IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEWER.

It is no brilliant deduction. The PPP is an Indian identified party and the PNC is an African identified party. They may claim otherwise bur the electorate has not demonstrated it care to switch sides until recently.

Indians will vote for the PPP until the cows come home but they are decreasing in numbers as they emigrate disproportionately. Further, the younger people are also willing to trust the AFC as a wedge party

My courage is in my thinking and consistency. The reason I ask for reform is the hardened racist bifurcation of the electorate. That you suddenly see this is not great surprise. You are always a week late.

Nehru dos not have a stool to stand on. The reality is that for a decade here I demand constitutional reform away from the Westminster system and its executive presidency because it was electing dictators. I suggested way of arranging a new system and even discussed those in details on numerous occasions. Nehru suddenly saying that Black people vote PNC giving you a hard on means it takes little to get you going. But you are a racially biased simpleton so that is not unexpected.

Indeed, the defections from the PPP prove that! And don't blame Africans this time for staying home. At least they can tell you they know this time with certitude at which end the fish stinks!

Of course a PPP man funds a poll that over samples PPP supporters and then you are shocked that they do well.

Rev we all remember your scream that Obama was a 47% president.  He ended up with 51%.

So maybe Ramotar has 47%.

Given that when they voted race they voted PPP you imply that many no longer support that party, which all agree is led by Indians for the full benefit of Indo elites.

iT MEANS THAT A GREATER NUMBER OF iNDIANS ARE WILLING TO VOTE FOR PROGRESS AND NOT RACE. SO WHICH EVER PARTY WANT THEIR VOTES WOULD HAVE TO CONVINCE THEM THAT THEY CAN DO BETTER THAN THE PPP. AS STORMY STATED, DESPITE THE CONDITION, MOST AFRO GUYANESE WILL STAY WITH THE PNC. YOU JUDGE THAT TO BE THE CORRECT THING TO DO OVER THE YEARS.

Its easier to call anti-PPP Indians "n*ggers" than to address them on a policy level.

But its those same "Indian n*ggers" that will one day send the PPP to the Opposition benches
