Girl the only quotes i know are from Shakespeare plays
Post them please.
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
-Hamlet in Hamlet
I got a better idea. If you will let me move those curlylocks aside I will whisper them to you. Lol
"Men at some time are masters of their fates:
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings."
âCassius in Julius Caesar
"Give every man thy ear, but few thy voice."
âPolonius in Hamlet
You like them curls nah or you playing fresh.
I was recently in another country and did a presentation to some students, thru a translator.
When I told them 'THE DREAMS LOST, ARE THE ONES WE DONT FIGHT FOR', they understood without translation and cheered.
Tola I am hoping you would give full participation in this thread as you have so many life experiences. Please share those quotes.
When our children were in earlier grades in school, the phrase that upset them the most was :
POOR PLANNING ON YOUR PART, DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN EMERGENCY ON MY PART.
After school, there was a convoy of dropped stuff on the floor, from the front door to the fridge. In the mornings, during a rush to catch the school bus, they will sometimes ask ' Dad, did you see my jacket' ? I would normally reply, 'No I don't, because it don't fit me'.
Now when their kids do the same thing, they just look at me and smile.
Personal challenges have positive messages, for us to learn and grow @Tola.
keep them coming..I love the one about situation. I will post that on my door for my kids.
"If the choice is to lie with dogs, then it is expected to get up with fleas."
Venturing into some topics on GNI, I would prepare myself.
If you sneeze on Monday, you sneeze for danger;
Sneeze on a Tuesday, kiss a stranger;
Sneeze on a Wednesday, sneeze for a letter;
Sneeze on a Thursday, something better;
Sneeze on a Friday, sneeze for sorrow;
Sneeze on a Saturday, see your sweetheart to-morrow.

There is an old Persian one that I like, "The Dogs Bark but the Caravan moves on".
One I have on my cubicle wall, " Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear, or a fool from any direction".
Curly you keep this up next time we meet. I just might put you across my knees and spank you. Them elders will not be around to save you lol
Not in the same strain but something else I have on my cubicle wall. An old Norse Prayer just before a battle.....
Lo there do I see my father,
Lo there do I see my mother, my sisters and my brothers ,
Lo there do I see the line of my people, back to the beginning.
Lo, they do call me, they bid me take my place among them,
in the halls of Valhalla,
where the brave may live forever
Aye Aye boss man. I might fall off them bony knees you have there.

I think by now Boss Man gonna either spank me or ban me for blowing up the server.
In awe I watched the waxing of the moon ride across the zenith of the heavens like an ambered chariot towards the ebony void of infinte space wherin the tethered belts of Jupiter and Mars hang, forever festooned in their orbital majesty. As I looked at all this I thought..
I must put a roof on this toilet.

I remembered my father-in-law dying.
I saw him just 12 hours before he passed away, moving around in the house. No symtoms of sickness.
I arrived in Canada and had to return to Guyana.
He lived alone in Albion, with ppl checking on him regularly.
I was told, suddenly he felt ill. At that moment, he continually telling those around him that they were coming for him. He claimed, he saw his mother, his father, his brother who passed away, his grandparents and other people related to him.
They were madrassie ppl. The old Dravidian Culture. perhaps along the same thinking as the Vikings.
Thought I would share this with you. Reading your post, I reflected on it.

Thank you for sharing something that personal. My father told me that he was away working in Mahaica Creek when my grandfather fell ill. When he got home and went to my grandfather's room, without opening his eyes, my grandfather said, "boy, you came". It makes you wonder about death and what happens after. Two nights ago I dreamt I was dead. I could see everything going on around me but I knew I was dead. Wifey said it meant I was going to get married again.

Seignet, thank you for sharing. I believe I know your father.
I have a DVD film of the Madras temple with Jamsie Naidu that was made at Albion Front in 1961 and could make a copy available to you.
If your family was at the temple at that time, it might show them, because it shows many Albion/Fyrish and Rose Hall Town people.
