Salman Khan, Hema Malini, Karan Johar Wish Shah Rukh Khan a Happy 50th Birthday

MUMBAI — Calling him a wonderful man and a great inspiration, celebrities like Salman Khan, Hema Malini and Karan Johar wished health and happiness to Shah Rukh Khan on his milestone 50th birthday.
Many celebrities shared interesting anecdotes about working with Shah Rukh Khan, while others took to social media to talk about how the actor inspired them to give their best in life.
Salman Khan, who has worked with SRK in films like “Karan Arjun” and “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” said, “I wish him the best in life. I wish him good health, family, success and a most amazing life. I would want his whole family to be healthy.”
Veteran actress Hema Malini, who worked with Shah Rukh Khan in her directorial debut “Dil Aashna Hai,” recounted how the actor once directed a sequence in her absence: “We were shooting for ‘Dil Aashna Hai,’ and it was the first day with Divya Bharti. Unfortunately, I had to go home, because my kids were not doing their homework, and I had to be there. Shah Rukh said, ‘It’s ok m’am, you go home; I’ll take this shot.’ And he did! We both were actors who had turned directors,” Malini told PTI. The actress wished him “peace and a healthy life,” and said she wants his son Aryan to become an actor soon.
Filmmaker Karan Johar wished the actor well and credited him for turning him into a director with “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.” “A big reason for my beginning as a filmmaker. I will always be grateful... Happy 50 Bhai!!! Your golden era is legendary... Big love @iamsrk,” Johar posted.
SRK’s “Devdas” co-star Jackie Shroff said the actor is an example for newcomers of how to work hard and make it big. “He is a person with a golden heart. I wish him good health, happiness and lots of success. I think all newcomers must learn from him. I often tell my son Tiger to see... learn how he has grown professionally. It is commendable where he has reached today. It was great working with him in ‘King Uncle’ and ‘Happy New year,’” Shroff said.
Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who was Shah Rukh Khan’s co-star in his debut film “Deewana,” recounted his initial meetings with the actor. “He was always a very spirited boy. Always a ‘josh’ed up actor. As a youngster, as a beginner in his first film, he was very respectful, very good to speak to, always full of energy,” Kapoor said.
When asked what would he like to gift Shah Rukh Khan, actor Varun Dhawan, who is sharing screen space with him in the forthcoming film “Dilwale,” said, “On the sets of ‘Dilwale,’ we used to play games. We played play station 4... I would give him a play station 5.”
Leading the wishes on social media was the superstar’s wife Gauri Khan, who posted a picture of SRK cutting his birthday cake. “Happy Birthday @iamsrk.. It’s just us tonight,” she tweeted
In a career spanning 27 years, SRK has starred in films like “Baazigar,” “Darr,” “Yes Boss,” “Pardes,” “Dil To Pagal Hai,” “Dil Se,” “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” “Mohabbatein,” “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,” “Kal Ho Naa Ho,” “Veer-Zara,” “Swades,” “Om Shanti Om,” “Chennai Express,” and “Happy New Year,” among others.
SRK’s “Don” helmer Farhan Akhtar said, “Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Don, happy.”
The actor’s “Happy New Year” director Farah Khan and co-stars Boman Irani and Sonu Sood also wished Shah Rukh Khan a happy birthday. “Happy 50th to my darling @iamsrk .. 50 yrs of combined friendship, millions of happy memories n many more to come,” Farah Khan said.
Irani tweeted, “Not seen a slip in his spritely step nor his mental ticker and fatigue is for those who try to keep up with him. 50? Ok! Happy birthday @iamsrk.”
An emotional Sood said, “I always wished I had an elder brother, then I met Shah... yes wishes do come true. Happy birthday @iamsrk love you the most.”
Actress Preity Zinta, who made her debut opposite the superstar in “Dil Se,” said, “Happy birthday @iamsrk! Loads of love, luck, sexiness, health and blockbusters to my first hero and to the man I truly admire and love.”
Actor Anupam Kher, who has starred with Shah Rukh Khan in several films said, “Happy Birthday to the most charming, affectionate and infectious @iamsrk. Love, peace and happiness always.”
Singer Sonu Nigam tweeted, “Happy Birthday to you my dear brother @iamsrk... God bless you with the health and ability to brighten the lives of your fans. Prayers.”
Actress Sophie Choudhry said, “Happy birthday to the most inspiring, energetic, king of awesomeness @iamsrk. 50 is now cooler than ever because it’s got you in the club! #SRKat50.”
