Salman Khan – Sonam Kapoor

Salman Khan had worked with Sonam Kapoor once in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya, where he had a cameo and stole the heroine right from under Ranbir Kapoor’s nose (though the Tamasha actor returned favour in real life…if you know what I mean…wink wink).

Even though this jodi breeds familiarity, this would be the first time Salman Khan would be having a full-blown romance with Anil Kapoor’s elder daughter.

Though they look good in the trailers, we can’t just ignore that HUGE age gap!

Sunny Deol – Soha Ali Khan

Film: Ghayal Once Again

Sunny Deol is making the sequel to Ghayal, but the original heroine Meenakshi Sheshadri won’t return for the same. Instead, Saif Ali Khan’s younger sister, Sohal Ali Khan, will be taking her place. Not sure there will be any romantic liasion between the two in the film, but if there is, we would need to gulp down our awkwardness when we see them run around trees, due to that dastardly thing called age-gap!

Akshay Kumar – Nimrat Kaur

Film: Airlift

His last film was the typical Bolly masala Singh is Bliing. Her last film was the critic-gasmic The Lunchbox. Hope you got the idea why this pairing is so unusual! But for a plot that’s about rescuing Indians trapped in Gulf during the Gulf War, maybe this pairing would work well. Nimrat’s realistic subtlety would harness Akshay Kumar’s machismo and give us that perfect thriller. Fingers crossed for that!

Ranbir Kapoor – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Film: Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Though Ranbir Kapoor will be paired up with Anushka Sharma in this Karan Johar film, our sources say that he will also have some sort of romantic tension with the much older Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. If that’s true, we would be entering the much curious Cougar town!

Shah Rukh Khan –  Alia Bhatt

When this pairing was first announced, everyone’s eyes well of their sockets when they read about it. Considering the HUGE HUGE age difference these stars have between them…He is 49, she is 22…it’s not hard to feel a bit scandalised! But since it’s a Gauri Shinde film, we can expect there would be plausible reason to justify this pairing! After all, didn’t her husband, R. Balki, make the jodi of Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu work in Cheeni Kum?

Shah Rukh Khan - Waluscha De Sousa

Film: Fan

Shah Rukh Khan featured in the list not once, but thrice. In Fan, it is rumoured that model Waluscha De Sousa is being paired romantically opposite SRK, and may even be playing his wife. Though the makers are tight-lipped about the film, the pairing is surely making us curious for its uniqueness!

Shah Rukh Khan – Mahira Khan

Film: Raees

It looks like 2016 could be SRK’s year, if the Gouri Shinde film will also release next year! As of now it will be only Fan, and Raees. In Raees, SRK will be playing a Gujrati bootlegger, who is married to Mahira Khan, a Pakistani actress in real life. Like his pairing with Waluscha, this is another untested pairing for King Khan. But since we know how charming he is with the ladies, Mahira is certainly in safe hands!

Hrithik Roshan – Pooja Hegde

Film: Mohenjo Dharo

When Ashutosh Gowariker cast Pooja Hegde opposite Hrithik Roshan in period adventure drama, people’s interest was piqued. After his debut, Hrithik Roshan hasn’t exactly worked with debutante heroines, and though Pooja has worked in the South, this is her first Bollywood film. And while we are at it, let me also remind you that film will also have a steamy lovemaking scene between these two in a cave!

Aamir Khan – Sakshi Tanwar

Film: Dangal

He is one of the ruling Khans of Bollywood. She used to rule the soap industry with Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki and Bade Achche Lagte Hai. When they came together for this biopic to play husband and wife, we were certainly interested! Though the film will focus less on Aamir’s romance and more on his relationship with his daughters, we can’t deny this pairing will be one of the reasons to watch Dangal!
