Breakdown of the above data:

  • Total Films: 12

  • Blockbuster: 1

  • Super Hit: 1

  • Hit: 4

  • Semi Hit: 3

  • Flop: 2

  • Disaster. 1

Analysis: He started the decade with a bang (6 back to back hits in just 5 years). Probably due to his very memorable run in the 2000s. Chennai Express became the highest grossing Indian film of all time until it was surpassed by Dhoom 3 later that year. Things went downhill in 2015 with Dilwale, which was a film with a lot of starpower and very little substance. Fan was misfire as fans at the time didn't like the premise. Dear Zindagi was a success but the entire credit cannot be given to SRK, it is more of an Alia Bhatt film. Raees was an odd one out because SRK's character was very different from the typical roles associated with SRK. JHMS flopped because the film's concept and SRK seemed very aged. Zero had a huge budget and audiences didn't connect with the film due to its weak storyline and unique concept.

Conclusion:

SRK's stardom was intact until mid 2010s. After that, his career diminished because he started making movies that deviated from his usual filmography, acting, and the prevailing trends of the industry at the time.
