The chubby, energetic and bubbly Sonakshi Sinha, entered the industry as a completely opposite character. Her first film was in absolute contrast to her real personality.

A naive, coy, and a uber sweet Rajjo emerged as a dynamic character with her roles in films like Rowdy Rathore, Action Jackson, Son of Sardar and many more.

But Sonakshi has never restricted herself to a single genre or to a specific character. She can not be identified only as a rebellious character or a damsel in distress or with the 'girl next door' image.

She has a variety of dishes on her plate, but not all of them taste good. This girl displays a million traits of talent.

Her introductory film Dabangg opposite Salman Khan was a blockbuster hit and Sonakshi got a grand opening, but her voluptuous looks definitely formed a certain image in people's mind. She was identified as a young girl  who could romance the middle age men. The film broke all the box office records and Sonakshi was praised for her performance in the film. But the next few films were disastrous. Even though they garnered box office numbers and money, they could not impress the critics. 

Amongst the 4 films that Sonakshi was a part of in 2012, 3 worked at the box office entering the 100 crore club with the exception of Shirish Kunder's Joker, which failed miserably at the box office and the critics were out of the question. But this changed with Vikramaditya Motwani's Lootera, in the year 2013, Sonakshi played the character of a Bengali girl and it was highly appreciated. The film didn't work with the audience, but the critics loved Sonakshi in it. Pakhi's gracious character charmed the screen with her fragility, innocence, and sensitivity. 

A lot of directors have placed their eggs in Sonakshi's basket and Sonakshi has delivered to their expectations (more or less). We don't know if it was her magic or the audience really enjoyed the film, but she even made films like R.Rajkumar and Action Jackson work. But with 'Tevar' she saw another fall in her career. Currently, Shotgun Sinha is busy shooting for her upcoming film Force 2. 

Sonakshi who started her career as a costume designer is now making her singing debut with a song titled 'Ishqohlic'. Sonakshi's career has seen a rise and fall, but it never fell enough to disappoint her fans or to stop her. She is never taken criticism negatively and has the 'keep moving forward' attitude and that is what has kept her going.
